That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Fruits and vegetables, absolutely!

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Congrats, Sophia!

My hours are turned around, but mostly in a good way. I'm still kinda tiptoeing around the house until I know whether certain relatives have left yet... Listening to an episode of The Jeremy Vine Show on the 'net, which I do on occasion to remind me of what it felt like to be vacationing in the UK. Ah, that was great...

Always Anti-fascist!

Makes Special Comment face, at both gallery owner and "artist" "If that is the best you can do, gentlemen, and I use the term loosely, you need to give it up. Or, possibly, blind yourself."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Go, Erin, go!

Congratulations, Sophia. That's a huge accomplishment.

JZ and Matilda are going out into a rainy day to see Tangled.

I'm stuffed with coffee and pumpkin pie.

Mmmmm, pie.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Connie, I share your inarticulate rage.

Sophia, you're a star! I salute the effort and the payoff!

Erin, all possible interview luck!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Congrats, Sophia! Ain't it a good feeling?

Erin, interview~ma! You'll astound them with your amazingness!

Connie, I appreciate that you didn't go to jail for setting fire to that painting.

Allyson, I'm so sorry. You made Oliver's last days happy and safe and warm, and you saved him from a miserable lonely death. You did good. I'm sorry he couldn't stay.

The status is NOT quo.

Sophia, how wonderful! I had a brief credit card debt free moment back in 2006 but got back in over my head in the years since. ND and I have been working on a plan all year, though, and we are slowly making progress. I paid of the last of his credit cards this month (his interest rates were much higher than mine) and am now starting on mine. I will do a dance of joy the day I can say the same.

On the grading front just 18 or so papers to go, and I managed to grade 9 yesterday. If I can keep up that pace, I can finish the whole batch.

Go you! I am so jealous--I can't even tell you how much grading I brought home and how little I've done. I also have 11 more recommendations to write before the end of the month. Sigh.

Erin, totally

Hm. Odd posting issue. Erin, I'm thinking really positive thoughts for your interview!

Perhaps a funny link will redeem me for killing the board. This is what ND and my niece wants for Christmas: [link]

She's a barrel racer, but...really? Oh dear.
