That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I am thankful for friends who will make a six-hour round-trip drive to have an hour-long lunch with me, as one friend did yesterday. I am thankful in general for the people in my life, for my family, my friends, my delightful husband and his equally lovely family, our sweet but neurotic kitties. And I'm thankful, always, for this board and all of you people.

I've had a lot of opportunity to feel loved and cared for this year, in circumstances both wonderful and awful, and I'm incredibly thankful that I have so many people who can and will show up for me when I need them. I'm a lucky lady, and I know it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am thankful for you all, especially today when I will be having an infusion without Juliana or G around to talk to, so I will be playing lots of FCMs.

And every other day, too.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am thankful that my office is closed today!

I am thankful to be in New Orleans, a city I love so much I could eat it up with a spoon. I am thankful that we were able move here.

I am thankful I have a job at a place that serves the community.

I am thankful for Tom and my kitties, Taz and Marley.

I am thankful for our friends here who have taken us under their wing and included us in their wide circle of friends and neighbors.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm thankful for my job, which usually has more pluses than negatives.

Today's my day to work from home (something else for which I'm grateful). I keep an IM program up when I'm working at home, and my coworkers are sooooo nowhere near online. Not that I blame them, but it does suggest that I won't have a lot to do today.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I woke up with a desert in my mouth and throat to find out my humider and run out of water, and had been blasting dry, cold air at my face most of the night.

UGH.

I am grateful for:

- My friends and family, who are better than I deserve and make my life funny, reassuring, secure and altogether better.

- Being surprised by life, and finally, amazingly finding someone with whom I am comfortable with and who loves me, with all my quirks and insecurities, and who I love, with all his quirks and same.

- Keeping our home this year.

- Even though I don't have a job yet, I'm grateful I've been able to mostly keep my shit together, which is huge for me, and a lot of credit goes to D. and the Buffistas.

- I'm grateful for my brain, fucked up as it is, because being without a job for so long, has made me be more creative about how to try to make a little money, and I've been able to make a wee bit of money researching and writing, which has inspired me to try to take it to another level, which is exciting.

-- I'm grateful for this board, which offer love, support, insight into many new and awesome ideas and things. And Dan is forever you slave because of the awesome Buffistas wedding present that lead to a TV. He worships you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Our CIO is unexpectedly in today, and because I was the only person that decided to go to a meeting that I knew wasn't happening (phone and internet were down), she snagged me and got me for a special task. I'm such a doof.

I'm grateful to have a job and friends and family.

I'm trivially grateful that the cafe that opened downstairs serves clementine Izze. I am also doomed.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am thankful for my family who is generous and supportive. For my job even though it is ending for allowing me tremendous flexibility for this move and even enough time and space for my brain to flip out for a week. For my house which I love love love. For mac for being a survivor and giving me more than I can ever hope to give him. For friends both new and old, near and far.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am grateful my DH is back from 10 days away. I am grateful that I have lost 18 lbs and can fit in my clothes again. I am most grateful of all for the many amazingly, kind, smart and generous friends and family I am lucky enough have in my life. And of course I include Buffistas in this group!

Hmmph. I think not understanding American football is perfectly reasonable. Guy over the cube wall was totally laughing at me not knowing what a cornerback was. And you know what? I just had it explained to me, and in ten minutes I won't know anymore. Hit, get hit, throw, catch, kick. Those are the things I get.
