Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I've had coworkers who send me email asking to do something, and then walk to my cube to ask me if I've done it yet, before the original email arrives.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

And I am thankful that my stress test was normal. Now, to find out WHY my first ekg seemed to show that my heart had been deprived of oxygen.

I'm glad it was normal, sumi! I had a stress test last year for diet reasons and everything checked out okay, which was great backup for the EKG I had yesterday, which apparently had little issues that added up to really nothing, according to my doctor, especially since that stress test was so good.

I'm thankful that I don't have the M* family EKG, which is what we've started calling the apparent genetic trend in my mom's family for EKGs that look like heart murmurs, but are actually perfectly all right. My sister, mom, two of my mom's brothers, and several cousins all have had their doctors freaking out over their initial EKGs, only to be given the all-clear after further testing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This is the kind of shit I'm talking about. @@

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Man, why the hell did I come in to the office today? There's nobody here, I have nothing to do. Feh. My meter runs out at 11:30, so I guess I'll try to hold out that long.

Punishingly Intricate

Oh, lisah, if you're around, I have one more restaurant suggestion: Gobo.

I will look into it!

Me too! SUPPOSABLY my boss is coming in later, so I guess it's good to be here for that, but ugh.

At least I got a potentially good-news letter, which I expected to be a bad-news letter when I saw it, so that's something.

Ooh, speak of the devil, my boss just got here. I forgot she had a meeting -- I couldn't figure out why you would come in for two hours...

hip deep in pie

Are any of you people following the gossip about how Kelly Preston wasn't really pregnant? This article about the new baby really never says that she gave birth, does it?

Yeah, I noticed that my CBC RSS feed had the headline as "Travolta, Preston announce new baby," which stood out in the way it distanced itself from any kind of actual birth event.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I am thankful for friends who will make a six-hour round-trip drive to have an hour-long lunch with me, as one friend did yesterday. I am thankful in general for the people in my life, for my family, my friends, my delightful husband and his equally lovely family, our sweet but neurotic kitties. And I'm thankful, always, for this board and all of you people.

I've had a lot of opportunity to feel loved and cared for this year, in circumstances both wonderful and awful, and I'm incredibly thankful that I have so many people who can and will show up for me when I need them. I'm a lucky lady, and I know it.
