I am thankful to have a job.

Sorry about dropping out of here last night! To get caught up: Steph, shrift was right--surgery is on Monday the 29th.

And I have a ton o' shit to do today. Making sure I clean off my desk, get some archiving done before leaving, calling various doctors and insurance companies to make sure they've got everything they need for next week, and then heading over to BB&B for the last batch of stuff I need for my apartment and then over to the DMV for my car registration renewal (at least they're open until 7:00). Then back home to finally get my apartment cleaned! I'll probably be pulling an all-nighter to finish that off.

And I am thankful that my stress test was normal. Now, to find out WHY my first ekg seemed to show that my heart had been deprived of oxygen.

I have a co-worker to whom I do this, but in his case it is necessary because he cannot or will not read emails. I send them anyway so that our correspondance is documented, but if I don't walk over and say "About that email I just sent..." then the whole thing just vanishes into the aether.

I believe it is sometimes necessary and appropriate, but not in these cases. I respond to emails!

Oh, lisah, if you're around, I have one more restaurant suggestion: Gobo.

I'm thankful all of my kids are beyond the age where they needed to follow me into the bathroom at home.

But also for family and for moving to a wonderful place and for this board.

Are any of you people following the gossip about how Kelly Preston wasn't really pregnant? This article about the new baby really never says that she gave birth, does it? [link]

I am thankful that Matilda got into her new preschool, as that's been a huge positive in our lives. Thank you, SFUSD.

I am thankful for the Buffistas pitching in to help us buy a new car. Things were falling apart right there and you helped buoy us. Thank you Buffistas!

I am grateful for our continued health and well-being. As I get closer to my fifties I am very aware of mortality as many of my friends have had to deal with serious health issues.

I am thankful that we live in San Francisco. I have never lived in a place before that was so beautiful and so continually delightful. Thank you, San Francisco.

I am thankful for my family. I have to spend a lot of time with them, so it's extremely fortunate that I enjoy everybody's company tremendously. My family is fun! (Except when they're not, but really everybody's very enjoyable.)

I've had coworkers who send me email asking to do something, and then walk to my cube to ask me if I've done it yet, before the original email arrives.
