Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence. Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

We're driving out to Oklahoma City tomorrow and Thursday (stopping in Little Rock on Wed. night), so we're not expected to make or bring anything, though if we leave early enough tomorrow, we'll try to get a pie from the Family Pie Shop in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Not until DH is home to watch the kids. No way I'm taking a four year old and a six year old into the grocery store today or tomorrow. *shudder*

I did take them to the Scholastic book fair at Owen's school so they could buy some books. Owen bought Captain Underpants and Ook & Gluk and Olivia bought Goldilicious. I bought How to Eat Fried Worms to read to them and a recipe book.

information libertarian

msbelle, mr. flea brought home an extra kitten 2 months ago and it is SO STRESSFUL to me to have 2 fighting cats on top of the usual level of child-induced chaos. That dog is so cute that someone will adopt it, and it would totally be One More Thing for you.

It is very weird to be doing no Thanksgiving food shopping or planning (we are eating at my grandfather's ritzy retirement home).

Also, it would be wrong to have a glass of wine before leading a Girl Scout meeting, wouldn't it? Sigh. I was not made for human interaction.

Deaths of parents of children under about 16 is one of the awfullest things for me. That poor little girl, David's friend's daughter.

Wrong? Hell, no. A necessity, in fact.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am overly excited to be contributing to Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year! Too bad all of the good stuff is taken.

Drink the wine, flea!

I just walked over to the chichi co-op down the block and bought a turkey. Except it's not a whole turkey, it's like, the breast and some other stuff. WTF? But TJ's didn't have any, and since we had an ice storm yesterday, I"m not about to venture out to anywhere farther away (and mostly, Safeway has like, 25 pound birds anyway). Did the rest of the shopping earlier this week.

Owen asked me when Star Wars: A New Hope appeared in theaters. I told him 1977. He looked at me and asked, "How is that if Episode I opened in theaters in 1999?"

Someone want to explain to him George Lucas' egocentric outlook on the universe and how he cannot stop messing with a good thing?

Coding and Sleeping

Sometimes when a producer's ego and money love each other very much...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"How is that if Episode I opened in theaters in 1999?"

Good fuckin' point. I can't tell you how many confusing conversations I've had with Emmett who refers to the movies by their chronological order while I think of them in release order.

So when we say "The first Star Wars movie" we're never talking about the same thing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Smart kid!
