I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I slept late, for me--until after 8:00.

And now I am going to attempt making it out of the house, to Target, before the crowds get there.

Because books.

I volunteered in the church nursery this morning and got to play with under-twos and hold a four-month-old baby, who promptly spit up on me twice and then beamed. LOVE.

Happy Birthday, Sparky! With cake!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Emmett is impressive!

Demo went ok last night. Not enough space in the bar to do an effective demonstration of derby techniques but the floor was AWESOME to skate on. I could have skated all night on that floor. Sadly, I had to take my skates off to drink a beer (that's a league rule).

I have managed to clean off my desk and make space beside my laptop to actually do some work on the surface. I just haven't figured out where to put all the stuff I took off the desk.

I've had two fun social nights in a row, which yay. Both involved karaoke, and last night included good crab cakes and an OMG scrumptious eclair... which was from the Land of the Giants so split generously among five of us.

Today is football game, more good food and company, and then I go into work after all the people are gone and hunker down for the next three full days until T-giving. Good planning on my part to have a fun, relaxing weekend first, I think.

Way to go, Emmett. Pretty dress, sarameg! Dana, I hope things are looking up. ita, hope you're getting/got what you need.

My radio just came on, playing Christmas music. Shouldn't surprise anymore. Ah, well, maybe I'll just go with it and not grumble about the early this year. Maybe.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Today, an exciting combination of laundry, going to the office to do paperwork and Sorting All The Things.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey Cash, the only other spectator for the krav test last night was a young woman named Sara, whose friend was testing.

We chatted for a while, and she mentioned that used to do Kung Fu and have all the bruises up and down her arms.

I mentioned that Emmett had just given me his mouth guard because it was bugging him and I hoped he didn't get his front teeth knocked out.

She said, "I had my front two teeth knocked out. Actually, I just got implants this year."

Me: "How'd you do that?"

Sara: "Roller Derby."

Sorting All The Things is kind of exciting, conceptually, to me. Or, yeah, no, I guess it's really Having All The Things Sorted that would bring the joy.
