Anyone have a nummy recipe to share?

Citrus Cranberry Sauce

1 12-oz. package of chopped fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped
1 12-oz. can of orange juice concentrate, thawed
¾ cup sugar
⅓ cup Grand Marnier, or other orange liqueur
¾ tsp ground allspice
1½ tsp lemon zest
1 medium orange, zested and juiced

Mix first six ingredients together. Add zest and juice of orange to bowl. Bring sauce to a boil in a medium saucepan; cover, reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Simmer uncovered for 5 more minutes. Cool.

Note to self: there are holes in the floor between basement and first floor. Eau de stain will seep upstairs. (Windows were cracked, and I may open a few more.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanksgiving is very specific in its meaning for me. It means sarameg comes in from out of town, and maybe I get to see her at Kat's. Before that it was something we objected strenuously to in Canada. And before that it didn't exist.

Yeah, I like my new TG tradition. Feels like it belongs to me, rather than obliged to someone else . Xmas belongs to my family, extra so because of the nephew's birthday. But TG? TG is mine and I am always thankful for the gifts (people) I carve out the time for specifically.

Tomorrow I must: pay my bills, fill out my performance appraisal, sort out my timecard, cause I screwed something up MONTHS ago and just noticed (charged a holiday when I mean to charge a vacation. Think I can fix it by charging one of my holidays to vacation coming up.)

So I apparently slept through a wicked storm which may have involved a tornado just 2-3 miles from me: [link] . Peeled the roof of some townhouse apartments. Eek.

Weren't too many branches in my yard, though most of the leaves are down now. And the magnolia down the block lost some limbs. Apparently not as bad here.

Skippy McSkipperson = Me

Tired from my day. Rode bike to Metro Rail. Metro Rail'd to Amoeba H'wood. Found out Amoeba had kinda screwed up the records on my album. Among other things, by ordering my album from a distributor rather than directly from me, the retail price on the album would be $21. Not that it's not an excellent album, but I think few would buy a 12 song album at that price. So they paid me for the one they'd sold from my consignment and the fellow promised me he'd lower the price on the albums they had so they'd actually have a chance of selling. Then they'd order from me next time (if they sell).

Metro'd back to find helicopters hovering over that part of South Pasadena. Turns out there'd be a jewelry smash'n'grab in Pasadena and they were looking for the suspects. Hours later they'd caught four of them but they're even now still looking for more and residents in that area are supposed to stay inside. A lot of excitement for this town. [link] [link]

Recommended Allyson's book to someone who was looking for new children's picture books to add to her classics. Did chores. Picked the first Gravenstein off my tree. And now feel like passing out.

I hope everyone had decent days.
