Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Skippy McSkipperson = Me

Tired from my day. Rode bike to Metro Rail. Metro Rail'd to Amoeba H'wood. Found out Amoeba had kinda screwed up the records on my album. Among other things, by ordering my album from a distributor rather than directly from me, the retail price on the album would be $21. Not that it's not an excellent album, but I think few would buy a 12 song album at that price. So they paid me for the one they'd sold from my consignment and the fellow promised me he'd lower the price on the albums they had so they'd actually have a chance of selling. Then they'd order from me next time (if they sell).

Metro'd back to find helicopters hovering over that part of South Pasadena. Turns out there'd be a jewelry smash'n'grab in Pasadena and they were looking for the suspects. Hours later they'd caught four of them but they're even now still looking for more and residents in that area are supposed to stay inside. A lot of excitement for this town. [link] [link]

Recommended Allyson's book to someone who was looking for new children's picture books to add to her classics. Did chores. Picked the first Gravenstein off my tree. And now feel like passing out.

I hope everyone had decent days.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

At my father's funeral we sang "This is my song," to Sibelius' Finlandia. It had special meaning to Dad because of his Finnish ancestry, and I've always love the meaning behind the first two verses.

amyth and smonster have merged me into their lovely Friends Thanksgiving tradition, which involves a dozen or so adults and a steadily increasing number of children. I bring pies and wine. It'll be this Saturday. Since my local family's died off, I don't really have gathering plans for Thanksgiving day, but I'll probably enjoy the time off and decorate my apartment for the holidays.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jessica, you should throw a post-thanksgiving dinner for friends on Sunday or something

You know, that's a fantastic idea. I can't do it that weekend (because my parents are coming down on their way back from Boston), but maybe I can organize some kind of leftovers potluck with all the neighbors during the week.

Jess, did you see I asked if you got the box?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

tiggy, are you in Hunger Games fandom? I usually steer far from fan-acted fanworks, but that was pretty well done and decently produced.

I just got off my ass and ordered a new migraine med. Once I realised I had already tried before, it got a lot less urgent, but at least it's off my list. Maybe it could work this time. I'm trying not to cry thinking of the work environment for the rest of the year.

Gosh, I hope it works for you ita. I hate that you're going through all that.

Oh damnit, I *knew* there was something else I was forgetting! Yes yes yes and I love everything in there! The shearling coat is AWESOME.

Between your stuff, Dylan's hand-me-downs, and my yard saling, I've already filled three drawers. I think I may officially have enough baby clothes.

Because books.

Oh yay! I didn't want to nag, but after boxes went missing to Perkins and Suzi last year, I get paranoid.
