I love this movie.
It's a remarkable work. Extremely depressing, or in other words, Russian. They made a sequel, apparently, which retconned the first movie pretty significantly. (Not as savagely as Highlander II, though.)

Tumblr is completely fascinating me. I love watching who likes which posts and who reblogs stuff. I have no idea how people are seeing this stuff. I guess I don't get it after all.
We are short two hymns and/or songs for my grandfather's funeral and no one can decide what to use.
(Please, no smart-ass suggestions.)
Also, all of the suggested Old Testament readings are kind of scary.
I've always liked "In the Garden" as far as hymns go.
edit: And "Abide with Me".
It's So Hard To Say Goodbye? Not trying to be smartass-two of my last three funerals featured that, by Boys II Men, and it wrecked me for the song forever. Are you doing second line type ceremonies, Dana?

No, very traditional Catholic funeral. Small, fortunately. Everything at the funeral home.
Then I got nothing. Turns out most of my adult funerary experience involves New Orleans and the second line. BFF was surprised to see pictures from my last one. I'm like! Dude! The band! The sister on drums! Confetti! It's a parade!
Should do that for me, even though I probably won't kick it in the Big Easy. I'll appropriate in death.
Maybe "I'll Fly Away"? (I've already instructed Hec that if he outlives me, he must make sure that the Alison Krauss/Gillian Welch version from O Brother, Where Art Thou? must be played at my funeral.)
I also kind of like "All People That On Earth Do Dwell", which has the same tune as "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow" but prettier words.
And Greg Brown's "Night" and "On Another's Sorrow," from his version of William Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience are achingly beautiful.
Abide With Me? The choir sang Let It Be at my niece's funeral and it was beautiful and perfect.
