Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm the product of the first three primes!

Man, I'd be all over buying those bowls!

Home from a simply lovely evening out. I like meeting people, or remeeting people I've only barely spoken to before. Who knew? Passed on pt2, cause I'm just tired today.

Funny thing discovered this morning. My friend & neighbor K was talking about the public boarding high school she'd gone to in NC and later taught at. That triggered a memory of my dorm-mate and fellow student, B (fairly uncommon name) who was just a living breathing ray of light and energy and sweetness. I said OH, I know where you are talking about, my blahblahblahold friend B went there, I think. Man, I ought to look her up. K got this funny look on her face and asked me her last name. Took me a moment to come up with, and when I did, K just started laughing. Turns out they co-taught and shared an office for a number of years, and K measures all work collaborations by the standard of theirs. K taught chem, B bio and with a third physics teacher, they were THE science department. Small fucking world.

The status is NOT quo.

I'd love to do a fundraiser like it at school. But not necessarily bowls. I just don't know what. It was super cool. I should take a picture of the bowl I got.

Kat, we do Empty Bowls with the sixth graders, and it's awesome.

Oops, meant to say Happy Birthday to Hil!

I have had a weird day. I woke up with vertigo and have been off all day. Dizzy and out of it. I had a ton of grading to do, yet every time I tried to focus enough to be able to write comments on papers, my head starts swimming. We slept in late, yet I'm going to bed now. Argh. I really better be better by tomorrow, because I am going to have to pull a marathon grading session to get caught up.

I'm wondering if I might have an ear infection. I don't have any other symptoms really, but vertigo and fatigue seem likely candidates.

Try dumping some alcohol in your ear. It can't make it worse, but if it is partly a blockage, that might help ( I regularly dump an alcohol/vinegar mix in mine, but that's because of the swimming. But I can tell there's water in there by weird balance/jawpain stuff even when it doesn't gurgle.)

Thanks Sara. We are out of alcohol, but I just used hydrogen peroxide on both ears. You're right--can't hurt, and maybe it will help.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy birthday, Hil!!
