Nevermind. That should make the posting even more interesting. Proceed.
Hee!! What makes this even more interesting is that this will only be the fourth time I've been put under, and my first surgical procedure since I had one of those earwax tubes inserted when I was eight, so I have no idea how I'm going to react to either the general anasthesia or bigtime painkillers. The last time I had those was for one day when I had my wisdom teeth yanked in high school, and all I did then was sleep all day long.
I am so sorry for your and your family's loss Anne.
Much ~ma to your family, Anne. So sorry for your loss.
post on painkillers
After HKF was born, they had me on some serious cocktail, AND put a phone by my bed. I apparently phoned my best friend from college and convinced her I was at a spa/resort. I have no recollection of this at all.
Kathy - the last time I was on such painkillers in the hospital, I thought I was doing ok the first 24 hours. But at one point I was in a wheelchair, right before or after some follow-up x-rays, and I realized how whacked out I was. There was that moment of clarity that I'll never forget, but then I went right back into that pain free drug haze.

Oh, I've had some fun talks with Teppy when she was out of her gourd on painkillers. Good times.
Though chatting with Ple while she's all hopped up on Red Bull and Vodka can't be beat for laughs.
I've high-dialled many friends while on painkillers, and once on codeine cough syrup. Good times.
I just found out a co-worker's Jamaican wife has the same random not-really-a-name as a chick I went to high school with. I'm not sure if it's more of a coincidence if it's not her than if it is her. But I'm sure she's too young to be my former classmate. I'm ancient around here.
eta: Y'all have seen so much of my posting on narcotics, I don't even know.
If I needed cufflinks, I'd totally buy these: [link]
They're the gargoyles on the Chrysler building.
In light of last week's Supernatural, that's really extra funny to me.
I need a life.
Guess what exciting thing I've discovered? Seitan! You know I like making stir fries for JZ but I do miss the meaty bite of chicken in my Chinese food. And seitan strips really satisfy that texture need.
No use to the gluten-free among you, of course.
But I've got some marinating in a mix of apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic right now.
And I'm going to make more of that raspberry ginger sauce tonight because it's just so freakin' good on ice cream.
ION, my neighborhood parking buddy - who also moves his car weekly behind the sweet streeper - flagged me down today to mention that his car had been towed last week. Just like me. So, now we can corroborate each other's story that we were parked beyond the construction markers and hopefully get our monies back.
(We only have a nodding acquaintance before today, but we've been doing this parking tactic for about three months now and we tend to park right before or behind each other as we prefer the spots closer to the bus zone. We'd gotten in the habit of scootching up to accommodate each other and now that little bit of neighborliness could save us a big chunk of change.)
