The psychologist we hired to do the eval came recommended from the therapist and she believes what he does is much more thorough.
My bet is that's absolutely true. At any rate, I know how hard it can be to get it all set up and in place. ~Ma for the process.
We specifically did not want the school district tests to be the first tests given to him.
Good choice, msbelle. We are blessed to have a great IEP team. Even when an official IEP isn't scheduled they constantly communicate via email--this is in a school with four, 4th grade classes.
Much good luck to you and mac, msbelle. I really hope things look up on the school front for him!
Just placed my fall/winter shirt order. Had to not order some long sleeved polo shirts I would have liked due to them only having that style available in burnt orange or chartruese (don't work with my coloring!), but I did end up with five shirts for $80 including shipping--one sweatshirt, two flannel plaid button-downs, and two longsleeved t-shirts.
I figure these, plus the sweater and three other longsleeved Ts I currently have, should be fine for this winter, and then I'll be replacing them with much smaller shirts next year (these were 34/36, and by next year, I should be down to 22/24).
How soon is your procedure, Kathy? I know it's a lot of fuss & unpleasantness, but I suspect it's all going to be worth it in the long term.
Monday after Thanksgiving--eep!
Mom's flying out on Thanksgiving day and staying until the 6th. If I need anymore help, Dad's available to come up as needed. I just have to go out and pick up a chair/bed convertible from IKEA (Mom's paying for it, yay!) so she'll having something to sleep on instead of just the couch, and then get some twin sheets and other assorted stuff from BB&B. I've been needing to replace the very ratty-looking uncomfortable chair I have next to my computer desk which is really only being used by the cat, anyway, and having it be a fold-out bed as well will be perfect.
Be sure to prep your Mom to put up a post -- or email one of us -- when you've come through the procedure. Of course, you'll be able to get online fairly quickly I suppose, but it will be a relief to hear the major worry-step has been passed.
I'll have my laptop with me at the hospital, which has free wifi. I'll be sure to have her update y'all, if I don't do it myself (they said they'd have me walking around that afternoon, so I'm sure I'll be alert enough to post here).

You may be able to walk around, but you will likely be high as a kite on pain killers. Nevermind. That should make the posting even more interesting. Proceed.

Hah, this was exactly my thought! YEEEES, post on painkillers! Wheee!
