Because books.

All kinds of ~ma for your brother, amyth, and for your sister, Cash.

In other news, I had a Sox at my house for two hours just now and it was Made of Awesome. You should all be very very jealous.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Amyth, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Brenda - call or write pizza ordering person and ask if they have ordered enough for all who responded.

Zenkitty - from my own experience, if you can get out and find a job that fills your needs, run. Run fast. My old job had me crying way too often. I am in love with my new job. I feel so much more human now.

Cash - much baby~ma to your sister.

Just talked with KCD about kid stuff, then he asked me, very seriously, "So, how are you doing"? Eh? Happier cause I don't live with you anymore but I'm kinda lonely and would love some male company? Nope, not going there.

6. Comet: Supergirl’s horse and boyfriend.

I guess that I'm not the only one who went to a Catherine the Great place?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I guess that I'm not the only one who went to a Catherine the Great place?

Sounds like SUPERGIRL went to a Catherine the Great place.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sounds like SUPERGIRL went to a Catherine the Great place.

He's a horse, AND a boyfriend, AND a freaking centaur! Catherine wished she had it that great!

Thanks for the good words, y'all. I just talked to my boss, and after she told me I was making a lot of mistakes lately (I AM NOT) I, um, vented at her a little and she backed off (because she hates confrontation even more than I do) and she offered some helpful suggestions (the best of which was "get someone else to do it"), so I've calmed down a bit today. But I know it isn't going to get any better. I should be looking for another job; I shouldn't convince myself before I even try that nothing could be better. I'm just so tired of it; I can't even think about putting together my resume again, after 11 years, without wanting to, well, cry. I've got to either find a way to deal or find a way out.

And because it deserves a post separate from my whining, amyth, all kinds of ~ma to your brother, and you, and the whole family.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Zen your situation reminds me a bit of Toddson's. A longtime work relationship that has soured over time. It feels untenable going forward but the options aren't great.

I do think you should be conscious that the job market is not only soft, it's particularly unkind to people in their 40s and 50s. (At least that's been my experience and I think Theo could validate that.)

And I'm not really sure that you could get a stay-at-home deal with the salary and benefits you currently have.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but do weigh the bird in the hand for its proper worth.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Get out, Zenkitty.

I didn't realize how much better I would feel until after I left.

This is so true for me! I feel like things are OK, or at least fine, but once I've made the decision to leave (any number of situations), I can really see how crappy they are.

Zen, maybe you should do an assessment of your job. Write down everything that you do, and how long it takes you to do it, maybe do this for about a week. Send it to your boss so that she gets some idea of what's going on.

Also, if she is going to tell you get someone else to do something, then she needs to define your supervisory authority, and whether you can ask someone or you can tell them to do what you need done.

not your mom's socks.

In other news, I had a Sox at my house for two hours just now and it was Made of Awesome.

It was, it was! (kind of xposted from Bitches) - thank you so much for inviting me over! I'm jealous of us and I was even there!
