I think we're going to the pool this afternoon. Meanwhile I'm just sitting on my ass and eating as much Jamaican food as I can and surfing the internet and uploading to flickr and contemplating scanning old pictures. But I don't want to get up.
We've had two birds in the house since I've been here. My mother thinks they're omens and she wants to play the lottery or something. The first one was a hummingbird, one of which is our national bird. So much cooler than a mouse. The second one was a dove which dive bombed our glass porch doors. Poor thing. It listed a bit, but it made it off the porch under its own steam.
Happy New Year bt and family!
I had an OK night's sleep considering I had traded my usual bed partner for two little squirmy people. The funny part was my cat Burrell yowling in frustration because she thought she'd been bumped from the bed. But I invited her up, gave her pets, and fell asleep to her purrs.
Oh! Matt's story reminds me I do in fact have a creepy vermin memory all my own. Filled washer, forgot to throw in the laundry and left the lid open all night. The next morning when I went to start a new load, I found instead a drowned rat floating in the washing machine. Yuck.
Happy New Year, billytea!
My new job starts on Monday, guys.
Congrats, bon!
ita, I definitely consider hummingbirds to be birds of good omen. Play the lottery.
We have quite the blanket of snow outside. And I need to go out in it to buy snow chains. Not for local driving, but we are heading up into the Rockies on Sunday and I'm pretty sure I'll need them up there.

Very icky, but on the bright side the place you found it was self-cleaning. The only location more convenient would be the toilet bowl.
Now that's looking on the bright side!
OH, I sold two books on Amazon while gone. I guess I'll be going to the PO today. YAY $$ and de-cluttering.
I guess since outside stuff is not gonna happen today I could list things on ebay.
We were up and out early this AM, forgetting that the nurse said he'd be here at 7:30. Normally he's not here until 10:00 when he says 9:00 so we were disbelieving.
The car told us it was 34 degrees out. 34 degrees in LA is SILLY as no homes are insulated. So I am cold.
The blackeyed peas are on the stove with the hambone from Christmas. The greens this year will be spinach.
Nom nom nom.
