Not raining here yet but it's supposed to break after midnight.
Just came back from my 4th Natural Resources and Environmental Commission meeting in 5 months. I'm still shaky from anger. And depressed because anger with no outlet and no hope turns to depression. Gah. The first time I had this feeling, I wrote it up here: [link]
I've never been the sort of person people follow so while there are So Pas gardeners, even gardeners who'd sign up for a community garden, I can't get any of the few I know to turn up at these meetings consistently so I got blown off tonight as "just one person". I've got so much crap going on in my life that it's hard for me to continue mustering the energy to try to show the city how unreasonably NIMBY they're being. I may make do with my raised bed (which I didn't know I'd be able to have when I first started showing up at meetings) or I may sign up for a plot at the El Sereno Community Garden, which miraculously seems to have plots available. Most community gardens I know of have waiting lists for 1 or 2 years.
Woke up 30 min ago. Do not like.
Yikes, msbelle, I hope you can get back to sleep.
I just took a Sudafed. Couldn't breathe and I've had a raging headache all night. I suspect my sister got me sick. I also suspect that taking that Sudafed won't make sleeping happen just yet. I had to choose and I chose breathing.
Not asleep yet. Lousy day since I got back from my Big Outing. I didn`t think the Arby`s breakfast was worth it, plus it made me sick. Back to rice. And so tired! But not asleep.
This is a rare occurance for me, I am gonna blame sharing a bed with mac who is a bed hog. 3 hours of sleep will not work though. Worse still is I have no book or knitting upstairs in our room. Unsure if I could get downstairs without waking people.
I'm home!!! And off to (hopefully) sleep.
Kat, Panera wins. Coffee and iced tea. Yum. I'll text you tomorrow and we can talk when/where. Yay!
Glad you finally made it home, mw.
There are ants everywhere in my cereal and on the shelf in the cupboard with the cereal. I discovered this just now when I went seeking a late night snack since I'm wide awake. Ants! I cannot begin to tell you how much I despise those tiny ants when they swarm inside, which all the rain is apt to cause. Ants! Ick!
I have decided that the only reasonable response is to run away shrieking "Ants!" and then get back and bed where I can pretend I never saw them.
t shudder
Ants.
The total ant biomass on the planet is ten times as great as that of humans.
They're probably not all in your kitchen though.
Pix, if you happen to have natural air freshener made from oranges, spray that on your counter. I used it liberally when they invaded my laundry room and they never came back.
