And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Whenever I can talk myself off the couch I have pics to upload from our snow walk this morning - some of the drifts were over Dylan's head.

Burrell, I hope your MiL's breathing improves.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good thoughts to your MIL, Burrell.

Speaking of grandmothers, mine just told me about the time she saved her landlady from suicide! My grandmother was in the apartment with a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a baby, and she was smelling gas. Couldn't figure out what was going on. At some point, the paper boy or someone came by to collect, and suddenly, she was like, "oh shit" (not her words). So she got the paper boy to stay in her place with the kids and ran up to the landlady's apartment, where she found her with her head in the stove, apparently very close to death! Called her doctor, called the police, and the lady lived. Yikes. I heart my grandmother.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Lots and lots of ~ma to your MIL and your DH, Burrell (and of course to you too). Breathing difficulties are so scary; good thoughts to all of you.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Thanks everybody. I hope to get an update soon, but I guess no news is good news.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh Burrell, your poor MIL. She's run the gamut of bad health so I do hope that the breathing will be no big deal.

Yoga was good today. We did a cookie exchange on friday and someone brought vegan, wheat-free, sugar-free cookies. Um? Yuck!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

vegan, wheat-free, sugar-free cookies

What's the point? Why even bother?

I'm definitely getting over to the pool to sign up on the way home tonight, since they're open until 8:00. The schedule for the rest of the week is good for me, with open swims on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Friday and Saturday most of the day. I'll just have to be sure not to go too far in the beginning, otherwise I'll wear myself out. Actually, I have to go home tonight and try on my suits to see which one I should be wearing right now--I might be too small for my largest one already.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've made vegan cookies that were excellent. I've had vegan wheat-free cookies that were good. I can't imagine vegan, wheat-free, sugar-free, though, unless the sugar-free just means no refined sugar and using agave or maple syrup or something like that as a sweetener.

I just helped my dad shovel out the cars. Three cars, over two feet of snow. It's not perfect, but I think we got enough snow far enough away from them that we'll be able to get them out even after it melts and re-freezes.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

~ma for Burrell's MIL

And fingers crossed that either the snowplowing improves before Jessica's child makes its debut or that the child decides to delay its premiere...

Onerous task for the day done. Although the ongoing saga isn't. PT bill that charged me a late fee when they'd been sending the bills to the wrong address (I gave them the right address at the time of the appointments). I paid everything but the late fee in Nov. Now they're keeping that late fee on and adding interest to it. Plus acting like I didn't pay the bill in the first place. Unfortunately, this is a small PT office that outsources its billing so you end up having to talk to two different places and it's that much more chance of bureaucratic errors. Anyway, I talked to someone and even working up the oomph to do that, even though it resulted only in leaving a mssg for someone who wasn't there, was something.
