And in "be careful what you wish for" news, I was bitter at having to spend $200 at Christmas time to service my transmission. Just talked to my mechanic. He called the dealer to buy the parts, and it turns out that they don't bother to service this transmission, because it breaks so often. He told me to be prepared to replace it. It could be as few as 6 months or as much as a year. WTF? Upshot is, I only owe him $20 for the transmission fluid that he topped up. But, I can look forward to buying a new car pretty soon apparently. I'm a little pissed. I'm going to go up to the dealership next week and have a chat.

In the ever running game of upside/downside: Upside is that the shortbread cooked super fast....the dark pans make the cookies overcook. The downside is that I made sarameg's chocolate cookies and it was an ugly ugly ugly epic fail.

Guys, I got a phone call from Princess Cruises today and I have my ship placement! January 25th I will be on the Sun Princess, cruising out of Sydney all over Asia, Africa, and the Pacific!

I can't find any decent memory cards that work with my ancient DSLR. I "organised" them before my last trip, and now all I can find 32MB. Which, you know, 8 pictures at my default resolution. Where did I put them? Don't make me go back to Best Buy. After buying the fancy SDHC cards that are too newfangled.
