Well, we may not have parted on the best of terms. I realize certain words were exchanged. Also, certain... bullets. But that's air through the engine. It's past. We're business people.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

You mean Dew-a-lee Sigh Cow Tao?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. That`s...kinda awesome. At least no one (else) was hurt?

I woke up to snow this morning, but I brought the firewood up last night. That`s a lovely rural feeling. And I have the new birdseed container, so I was able to refill the birdbath with my teakettle this morning, and set out fresh seed. I feel all winter-routiney and it`s only the first day of winter.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I love reporter names on NPR.

I am home with the kids and the roofers are here! It's like my own personal This Old House! I think they are doing a good job. I am trying not to stalk them too closely. (If it was actually Tom Silva working on the house, I would have already fainted in fangirl glee, so luckily it is only our neighbor the contractor. Our porch is in SAD shape.)

Ooh, Doualy Xaykaothao is Hmong-American! I sort of assumed Chinese, based on not knowing how her name was spelled.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm exhausted and squinty. There's hardly anyone in my office. I'm trying to figure out if I've forgotten anything. Although we're allowed to leave at noon, my train isn't until four.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Damn damn damn, the cafeteria is closed today, and nobody made that clear yesterday. I'm hungry, and I just wanted tuna fish. Damn.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm exhausted and squinty. There's hardly anyone in my office.

ditto. I don't get to leave until 5:30 though, even though there is nothing to do.

I suspect there may be some FCM this afternoon.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fun thing about having Maggie stay over.

Matilda refers to her as "Maggie the Girl" to her face.

Like, "Maggie the Girl, look at this picture! It's you when you were just a little baby."

Also, she spent most of the evening sitting next to Maggie and tucking Maggie's hair behind her ear and basically being besotted by a pretty young teenage girl.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I set up a meeting at 3. The key people? Haven't accepted the invitation.

Yeah, I know it's a bitch, but if you're not going to make it, just say no.

I will be making it from home. After I buy electronics for my sister on Christmas Eve Eve. I don't like her right now.
