Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went to Trader Joe's this afternoon, and literally got nothing I can eat. And I don't have much for dinner. I think it's going to be oatmeal. Or popcorn. Or both. Healthy!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Make kettle corn! Oh, wait, that`s not the solution to healthy. I was going to make kettle corn and cookies for goodie bags, but then my mom sent eight billion cookies so I used those instead, but I have residual kettle corn desire. I was thwarted in my kettle cornness. But hey, more for me when I do make it, right?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I may need to have some popcorn for dinner.

Well, exactly.

I am hoping to have leftovers from the cheese and crackers I just bought for the choir, unlike the excellent spread I made for my boss's party, which she kept to serve at another party! Tack-eee.

Well, edamame is pretty important.

While we were at the folks` place for Thanksgiving, my mom was super stressing out over wht the grandkids would eat. The older one has bad table issues, particularly exacerbated by her dad`s random discipline enforcement thus resulting in constant dinnertime battles which drives my dad nuts. So mom`s goal for the holiday was all food they would like so there weren`t fights. It`s a bit hard to predict since they`re half-Japanese kids raised in Africa.

Anyway, we get to dinner one day and there`s a giant bowl of edamame. Mom mentions it`s because my niece and nephew like it. My niece pipes up, "No, Grandma, we don`t like edamame,.." long dramatic pause, "we LOVE edamame." Hee.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I don't know where either of the two liberals in OK live.

I do! Because they're my in-laws.

OK, I got home from my work Christmas party at 4:30 and have watched some TV, talked to Mark, faffed around online and eaten a pear. I suppose at some point, I actually need to do some dishes and pack. And take out the trash. Since it's 7pm, and I leave in 12 hours.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm having mustard greens with pierogi from a local maker. It's always random what kind she makes and when they're available. These ones are sweet potato with maple and bacon. Le nom.

But now I think I may have edamame with it.
