What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Because books.

We're getting our tree tomorrow. And since our Christmas stuff wound getting left behind up north (oops), I just scavenged my parents' forty-five years' worth of decorations and came away with four bags of stuff. Whoo.

I'm now trying not to eat All the Food. I'm starved today.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I sent a box to liese (should be there soon, I SWEAR) and we went to see Santa. We went to the outdoor mall, got there 15 minutes early. It was raining and I was getting damp, but it wasn't too bad. Then they opened Santa's house and we could stand under the porch roof, but Santa was 20 minutes late.

Anyhow, it turned out fine: [link] We went to the bookstore and then the farmer's market when it started a huge downpour. We were waiting for Kiehl's to open, but at 10:05, the person working said, "We'll open in 20 minutes." Fuck no am I waiting in the pissing down rain for overpriced (though I do like it) eye cream.

Sigh.

Home now. I have to pack up boxes to ship stuff.

hip deep in pie

Done:
Basement floor swept
Dishes washed
Fallen Xmas lights put back up
Gifts and some clothes packed.

The gifts are taking up 95% of the space in my suitcase.

Okay, I have done my beta.

Now I have to decide if I want to go to the museum. I mean, I do want to go, but I would really rather sit here.

Plus there's the business of making dinner for my folks.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

but then I had to stop to have a discussion with Dita about whether or not she could eat the tree.

Nathaniel is telling Dita to go for it

I have cancelled the visit with my folks, my brother is going to fill in for me, yay. Thank god I have family around, I don't know how only children do this.

I might go to the museum anyway because it's the Pixar exhibit and it closes in a couple of weeks. And it's only a few minutes from my house: I could stumble through it for an hour and then go home...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Dita already switched to the power cords to my sister's computer.

I finished the tree, at least until I decide it needs fiddling with, and found the hair dye. I think I won't tell my sister about the lesbian confusion. At least until after the dye is in.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It should help if you're not smoking cigars, I think.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The Pixar exhibit is pretty great, Consuela. I need to get back over there before it leaves, I didn't quite see it all.
