The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My sister said she would help me dye my hair stubble purple today, but I need to remember where I put the dye.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I remember dying my hair purple with my sister! Good times, good times. And then we went out and got mistaken for a lesbian couple. Irritating times, irritating times.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Feel better, 'Suela.

I wish. I think I'm getting worse, actually, since in addition to the sinus pain I am now coughing up green stuff, which I can't tell if it's from my lungs or my head. Bah.

Shouldn't have had any wine last night.

I only have to work three days this coming week, yay, but it's the holidays and there's so much to do, and argh.

omg, were y'all aware of the horrors of Avril Lavigne butchering O Holy Night? Deleted that off my iTunes right quick.

OTOH, Mahalia Jackson's Away in a Manager, lovely.

I've mostly finished my xmas shopping. Dropped a ton of money at BestBuy, Target and ToysRUs. Basically fills a suitcase. I guess I'll put my toiletries in that one and use my carryon for my clothes.

My parents aren't getting much of anything, will probably do another donation to Heifer this year.

Shit, I think I need to get more catfood. And I was just up there. Sigh.

Once my stomach acknowledges I've eaten lunch, off to swim. Then laundry and cookie baking, then hopefully clean the house, then manicure. Tomorrow, finish anything not done, pack, trip downtown to replace a shirt, swim, then cookie swap. Fall down, get on plane.

Oh and I've got to send a reminder to petsitters.

Because books.

We're getting our tree tomorrow. And since our Christmas stuff wound getting left behind up north (oops), I just scavenged my parents' forty-five years' worth of decorations and came away with four bags of stuff. Whoo.

I'm now trying not to eat All the Food. I'm starved today.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I sent a box to liese (should be there soon, I SWEAR) and we went to see Santa. We went to the outdoor mall, got there 15 minutes early. It was raining and I was getting damp, but it wasn't too bad. Then they opened Santa's house and we could stand under the porch roof, but Santa was 20 minutes late.

Anyhow, it turned out fine: [link] We went to the bookstore and then the farmer's market when it started a huge downpour. We were waiting for Kiehl's to open, but at 10:05, the person working said, "We'll open in 20 minutes." Fuck no am I waiting in the pissing down rain for overpriced (though I do like it) eye cream.

Sigh.

Home now. I have to pack up boxes to ship stuff.

hip deep in pie

Done:
Basement floor swept
Dishes washed
Fallen Xmas lights put back up
Gifts and some clothes packed.

The gifts are taking up 95% of the space in my suitcase.
