I survived the boss's Christmas party! It was actually fine, and the food was GREAT. Although she kept the hors d'oeuvres I brought! I had totally packed them up when she said, "We're going to keep that, OK?" So I unpacked. She's still the boss for another couple of weeks, after all. She got wined up, and started crying as she told us how much she loves us all. Um, OK.

JZ, I would be sooooooo happy to tell off that nasty being. May I suggest something along the lines of "Working with you has been a real pain in the ass. I used to get through days just being thankful that at least I was not one of the poor souls who ever had to share a home with such a miserable nasty hateful person. The idea of spending evening and weekends, much less holidays, with someone so devoid of basic levels of pleasantness and humanity, well, you can just let your family know that someone at (your church name here) prays for them each week. It is something for me to work on that I can't quite bring myself to pray for you, but I think even Jesus and the Saints would understand."
Man, I thought gingerbread sounded good, but now I want bread pudding.
And, um, mac and cheese bites.
Hmm, no, I'm still stuck on gingerbread.
THEN bread pudding.
I was watching a show on Food in Chicago tonight, and had to turn it off because I started craving Italian Beef and chicken schwarma and Tootsie Rolls.
I had pumpkin brioche bread pudding the other day (with cinnamon caramel sauce). ....and it wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be. I'd rather have had more popovers (which they served as the free bread!)
I just popped some crescent rolls with Nutella in the oven. Haven't tried this before, don't think it will compare to gingerbread or bread pudding.
I know mail takes longer than usual this time of year. I sent a couple of packages out by Priority Mail on Monday and I haven't heard a peep from the recipients. I'm trying not to worry yet. Isn't working.
Crescent rolls with Nutella sounds pretty good to me.
I made more cookie dough using half hershey and half Droste. Who knows. Hershey's got a big yay but also a too rich if thick. I'm torn...
Popovers! Yummmm. We first had those in Maine at Jordan Pond in Acadia Natl. Park, where they served them with tea on the lawn. My mom immediately tracked down a popover pan when we came home and would make them occasionally. I think she might have sold hers a few years ago at a garage sale since she hadn't made them in several years at that point.
