In Jamaica we call a kind of hibiscus sorrel. We make a rum drink out of it at Christmas. In Mexico they drink something similar non-alcoholic year round called Agua De Jamaica. Apparently the Sudanese make a syrupy sweet drink out of it. I think my mother knows how everyone cooks everything we cook in Jamaica.
