Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Goddamn you, Time Warner. Fucksticks.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sure I've told the story of the dad I know who wanted his first kid to believe in Santa, but lost him with "a right jolly old elf." "But elves aren't real, Dad!!"

Because books.

Don't even get me started on Christmas chauvinism. Or Santa.

What's "Christmas chauvinism"?

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I think I tried to hang on to Santa a bit longer than was healthy.

It's so ingrained culturally that (apparently) when I was very little I did think there was a Santa (even though my presents all came from my parents or siblings). Of course, that may be because my workaholic Dad did most of his shopping on Christmas Eve and so a whole bunch got added overnight. My mom used the new present under the tree each day method.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

What's "Christmas chauvinism"?

I think it's where everyone is bludgeoned with the music, decorations and general celebrating, etc. regardless of whether they want to participate or not.

Today wasn't onerous task day, but I have been an onerous task NINJA at work. These tasks, I'm shoving their faces in the snow and demanding to know who their daddy is.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

What's "Christmas chauvinism"?

It is... something I think I just made up? Just my way of expressing my feelings about the tyranny of the Christmas culture. The lack of empathy or understanding of other cultures that don't celebrate Christmas, the thinking that not celebrating Christmas is an affront to the sanctity of childhood, humanity, and the american way.

But then I am a Scrooge, so feel free to disregard...

Edit:

I think it's where everyone is bludgeoned with the music, decorations and general celebrating, etc. regardless of whether they want to participate or not.

Yes, this!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I wonder when the next Onerous Task day is?

I didn't set one. I wondered whether we should (a) do it before xmas; or (b) after the holidays; or (c) just let the random date selector decide.

What say you, Natterinos?

You don't like Valentine's Day either. I suspect you'd stab Arbor Day in the heart given half a chance.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Let the date selector decide? No need to procrastinate on selecting a date, since people don't have to task if they don't want to.
