Coming back (and coming down) from a big trip is hard, and doubly so when you've come home to financial woes and other difficult stuff. I'm sorry you're having a rough day.

What am I doing this weekend? Today is Gary's birthday, so when he gets home I'm taking him out to dinner. Tomorrow we're going to a holiday party. Sunday we're having dinner with Gary's dad and step-mom.

So, mostly night-time stuff.

(Tonight is the party for a good friend's transition to full-time being a woman. I'm very happy for her.)

I am following the vax talk but I am mostly staying out of commenting because, well, clearly I have some personal issues about it right now.

At least I know a lot of friends who made sure they were vaccinated against pertussis. Just so disappointed that I can't say the same for all of my family.

If you don't have actual objections (and religious or pseudoscience counts), I think it's awful not to protect your children. No, I honestly think it's criminal. But I am trying to be polite and so I will not be completely honest.

Mostly I just hope I can avoid the topic this weekend with family.

Yoga was not as transformative as I had hoped. I blame my boobs.

I think I have discovered the problem with me working at home. I've done pretty much what I would do on the weekend, plus a little more work, but on the weekend, it would be nap time, and now I really want a nap.

I wish I had nap time. The SO is napping. But he has a good excuse. Instead I am speculating on whether my goose stew is going to be super delicious or whack. Apricots, hominy, carrots, onions, ginger, chili powder, rice wine, rice vinegar and honey. And salt and pepper. I do not know. It is a gamble.

Meanwhile, I am killing fruit flies, which are in a bid to take over my house.

Oh! And I have Western bluebirds hanging out and checking out my bluebird house! Which a) has a wasps' nest in it I hadn't cleaned out yet because b) it's not exactly nesting season. But maybe if they like it they'll nest there this spring. And in the meanwhile, they can definitely use it for roosting. I hope they stay! Maybe I'll leave the porch light on tonight to draw any remaining moths, for a bluebird buffet bar.

OMG, I have been on the phone with my boss for over 2 hours. I don't get this much attention when I'm in the office.

Thank you all for the lovely greetings. I just had a meeting which was interesting except the guy just kept talking and it became wah-wah-wah just like a Peanuts special. Mostly because I think I have a sinus infection, my head feels all wonky. Damn it.

I was going to see a movie tonight but I think I will go home and watch Precious Ramotswe solve crimes.
