Happy birthday, Perkins (and the Board, too!)
And thanks, Kate and Trudy (and everyone else, too). I've got some bloodwork and a sleep study to do next week, and then the liaison with the surgeon will put the paperwork through to Blue Cross. As soon as they get an approval from the HMO (estimated 1-4 weeks), we can schedule the surgery. I'm hoping to be able to have it the week of November 15th, which will work best for my office (I'm taking three weeks short-term leave) and my mom coming out for that first week to help me out. I should only have to miss one class that first week, and still have the weekend of Thanksgiving to recover even more before going back to school.
Before the actual surgery, I'll still have to have two endoscopies done (one for gall bladder, one for something else I can't recall offhand) and return to the vein specialist for a followup around Halloween. When I have the actual surgery, they'll be putting in a filter into my vena cava as well to help prevent any blood clots from forming (it'll disappear after about 100 days).
Vortex, what are your PTB looking for? If they want one specific number, I'd probably use the middle of each range. If they're just trying to get a general idea, you might be able to get away with, "The general consensus of the students was $ to $" without doing a lot of math.
I can't open the tupperware container with my heated lunch in it. I feel like a doof.
Autumn is upon us. I just sent a shitload of requests to my TiVo. Apparently I can't season pass Defenders. I don't know if this is for my own good. Hawaii Five-O passed muster, though.
Okay, bandage off. Back to attempting lunch.
Autumn is upon us.
I'm thinking about dark nails this weekend!

yes, that's what I'm going to do, I think. Essentially, we allocate a certain amount of the scholarship for books at the bookstore, and the students have always said that it wasn't enough. I decided to do a survey, and asked them what they thought it should be. I should have limited the answer to a whole number, but I also ended up getting some good comments.
Autumn is upon us.
THANK GOD. Boots! Velvet jackets!
Huh. I need to decide what the heck I'm wearing tomorrow to the Steampunk Swapmeet I'm vending at. The organizer is encouraging people to dress up, and I want to make sure that I look very Victorian Goth. (The organizer is one of the people who really likes hot glue guns and gears on everything.)
I switched my nails to a lovely chocolate brown last weekend. Bring on the crimson!
You people are weird. I haven't stopped wearing velvet or boots or...well, too lazy to paint my nails. But it would have been crimson or brown.
Still, LA proper had no summer this year.
Sad.
Finally pried my lunch open. It was sad. I went back to the kitchen to try it there, but invite-me-to-lunch guy was there, so I wheeled out before he could see me and went back to awkwardly fidgeting at my desk. Now I can't rewrap my hand right. I'm losing circulation.
Autumn is not yet upon us in Georgia - still in the 90s. But I ordered those boots anyway, damn it.
Oh, I've been wearing boots sometimes, and velvet waistcoats. But now we're moving into PROPER weather for layers. And tights!
