Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would totally bust that kid!

That's worse than when I was emailing back and forth with a coworker and I realized she was on a conference call with the CEO...

Swouncing

Before I have to log off, I just have to post that, based on your answers, vanilla bean seems like a really good ice cream, the kind I really wish they sold here. Thanks, you guys!

Bye Nilly! Great birthday gift, to see your font in here!

I'll probably be running over to CBC & Hungry Mother tonight, so I'll toast you with a beverage (or three).

I approve!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want like buttons for work emails. Someone just sent out one with a "too soon?" joke in it. I'm a sucker for that shit.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

it's amazing to me that i can do 40% of the work a co-worker and i share in 45 minutes or so and yet the remaining 60% takes her 3+ hours. of course, that could be because she stays on personal phone calls.

One of the reasons I avoid bringing a laptop to certain meetings is that I am convinced I'll accidentally bring up fb, and get busted by other coworker, including my former boss. Even as I rarely go to the internut when in meetings.

ION, I really hope that if the State's Attorney race goes the way it is looking right now, it doesn't turn into some long protracted thing. Because given how the currently losing incumbent behaved during the campaign, I wouldn't put it past her to stonewall and start throwing out accusations of fraud (which, highly unlikely.) Doesn't bode well when her spokesperson is saying "I just don't know how this could have happened." Uh, wow. Talk about a disconnect. Writing has been on the wall for a bit.

Always Anti-fascist!

I thought the vanilla bean, coffee, and lemon ice cream was one new flavor and I was confused but intrigued. Also, as I somewhat wrongly posted in Bitches, if you're worried about the election, consider being part of GOTV efforts.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, I heard from a DC friend that there was a fire on the Red Line, but the closure of two stations necessitated the closure of a bunch of other lines because of the cross-connections.

I'm currently waiting on an Employer Forum for another customer service rep job. Considering that I'm waiting to hear back from two other interviews, which I think I do have a realistic shot at getting, I'm sort of hedging my bets, but at least I'm Doing Something, right?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Lucy in the sky with diamonds!

Twinkling in the sky is a diamond star of 10 billion trillion trillion carats, astronomers have discovered.

The cosmic diamond is a chunk of crystallised carbon, 4,000 km across, some 50 light-years from the Earth in the constellation Centaurus.

It's the compressed heart of an old star that was once bright like our Sun but has since faded and shrunk.

Astronomers have decided to call the star "Lucy" after the Beatles song, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
