Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

In NY, I heard that elevator repairmen and plumbers were both in shortage. I know good mechanics are needed in my current area.

They may have been raptured.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh. To Elevator Repairman and Plumber Heaven.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy birthday, Spidra!

So sorry about your job, Aims.

For my family it's mandatory that you get an education-related job that comes home with you at the end of the day. Anything else is highly unseemly, and your happiness is not relevant. Your income is almost irrelevant also. Severe education snobbery to do with Third World issues going on.

My god it hurts today. It hurts in my teeth and in my elbows and in my knees and I want to cry. I can't believe I haven't been at work for an hour yet. And my first meeting, important one with the CIO got bumped. And no one is answering my emails, so I'm not even sure they're going out. It's just not a day, and it's barely started. I can't believe I'm the only one with a sense of urgency, and I feel this blah.

I Guess He Likes Buffy or Whatever: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Back Tattoo [Geeky Tattoo]

This guy: “No, you don’t understand. I really, really like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Words fail me. All I can say is, "Oh dear."

hip deep in pie

I think I would have been very happy to be an electrician or plumber or someone who worked with their hands.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Is that a guy? He's awfully curvy for a guy.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Dang. Buffy might very well be one of the few things I've retained love for long enough to consider getting a tattoo, but I would damn well walk into the parlor with my own design for reference instead of just telling him "go wild, dude." And possibly I'd bring custom stencils for the tattoo artist to use.

Yeah, I thought it was a woman at first.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I Guess He Likes Buffy or Whatever: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Back Tattoo [Geeky Tattoo]

It kind of looks like it says "Death is your GIF."

Which I suppose is better than "Death is your JPG."

"Death is your animated GIF" would be better still.
