Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can hear support over the cube wall trying to explain the @ symbol to the person on the phone. It's taking entirely too long. He's been going for two minutes. Technically, "over the 2" should work, no? If you've somehow lived under a rock and never heard an email address spelt out?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

No tears from Sara this morning! I'm celebrating with PopTarts.

Yeah! Go, Sara!

Today was the first day of school for the new year at Matilda's pre-school. She's graduated up in their marine-themed schema and is now a Stingray.

She was starting to get anxious about the change yesterday but both JZ and I took her in this morning and we whipped her up into a proper frenzy of excitement that it was a Special Day and that seemed to work.

So now all the little transitional weeks before new school years for Emmett and Matilda are done and the school year is officially started.

Next year she's in kindergarten which will be a trickier transition and I am not looking forward at all to the torturous school placement process of the SFUSD.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Shift-2, maybe?

Oooh, aren't you fancy with your technical precision and clarity.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

NO SHE IS NOT. SHE IS A BABY. OBVIOUSLY.

Well, in three weeks she'll be a four year old baby with strongly held opinions about Wonder Woman and Voldemort which is kind of stretching the definition of "baby."

If it's any consolation, though, her hairline around her face is still pretty wispy and baby-like.

In my experience, People Who Don't Get Computer Stuff just want to know what buttons to press. This person probably can't even see their monitor because it's covered in post-it notes listing key-sequences for complicated tasks like Opening A Word Document and Getting To A Web Page.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In my experience, People Who Don't Get Computer Stuff just want to know what buttons to press.

Which is why it's funny when they are told to "press any key".

("Where is the 'any' key?")

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Up late with worried husband (his parents are being dicks right now) and then had to get up at 5:30 to drive him to the airport. Yesterday was a double-whammy, his car needed a new water pump and mine needed four new tires. So it was Spend All the Monies day. Today is I Am Too Tired Too Work Day.
