Mine was the first dress I tried on, it was cheap, and it was very 1988. Think vaguely GunneSax with lace in white, and you're there. So not me.

I did end up with a bereavement fare, or a "compassion" fare from United, which was 10% off their published fare. Good enough.

I knew my girls would never wear them again, which is why I bought them at JC Penny's instead of David's AND used a 30% off coupon to buy all of them - they came to $80/each.

I've been a bridesmaid twice. First time was my brother's wedding. All the bridesmaids wore a black, sleeveless, floor-length dress. Not too bad, even if I was a bit shorter and heavier than the other bridesmaids. The dress was cut down to cocktail length, and the excess fabric became a shawl. Second time my friend assigned colors to each of the bridesmaids(mine was green) and suggested something historical and dressy. I had bought, on a whim, an early Victorian-style ballgown, so I wore that.(I borrowed a set of hoops from another friend).

I didn't have bridesmaids at my wedding.

Matilda and I are back from Japantown where we snacked on Poky and I bought her a tiny novelty glass and some little rubber dogs (sixty cents each) and she climbed all the banisters and hand rails all while wearing her Little Batman costume, accessorized with sparkly pink shoes. It was a good look for those sorts of activities in Japantown.

Any of the cheaper Soda Club models will do the job. The only advantage the Penguin has (beyond it`s a penguin! You push its beak!) is the glass carafes, but even with that, those are smaller than the other bottles.
 
I didn`t have bridesmaids either. But who knows what I would have done with them, as I was wearing my grandmother`s wedding kimonos. Which were gorgeous, but probably would not have matched well with poofy sleeved taffeta.

My favorite cheap bride saw some dresses she liked on clearance at Macy's before her wedding, so she just bought them in all the sizes they had, on the assumption that they would fit someone. They were like $40 each!

Thanks for the offer Jilli but ypur hoops and hats and parasols would not work. Like Sue I have more of a gwtw thing imagined, and I think light blue, peach, or light yellow.
