Tommy, I'd suggest a heating pad -- the kind with moist heat if you have one -- and a hot shower. Steam works pretty well as a muscle relaxant, and what you want is for the muscles to loosen up enough that they'll let the joint get back into place -- when joint dislocates, frequently the muscles around it tighten to prevent it from dislocating further, but if they stay tight, that also prevents it from moving back.
Thanks, Hil. I have a heating pad here at work - I'll try the hot shower when I get home.
In the past I've found yawning helps. But for some reason I haven't yawned yet today, despite being tired....

Yeah, that explains why I can't pop it back like I usually can.
You might try doubling up on ibuprofen too, tommy, to reduce inflammation. A good chiropractor could probably put it back in place. (Mine could, but I can't send her to you through the intertubes.)
ouch, tommyrot! i have constant jaw pain because my upper and lowers don't meet up correctly. i was told the only thing that could be done would be to break my jaw and wire it shut for, like, six weeks. i think i'll pass on that.
ION, i think i might have found my dress for my BFF's wedding, but i have to go try it on. [link] her colors are eggplant, sage and champagne. i'm trying to get something in the color scheme because we're going to have the professional photographer take some shots of us. i am kind of balking at the price, but at least it's something i can wear again. i'll probably get a wrap to go over it because it's October 10th and it will probably be a bit chilly by then.
In the purple or the cream, tiggy? That's really pretty, either way.
Tiggy, that dress is really pretty, and the price isn't too bad. Think of what you would have had to spend if you'd been in the wedding :)
tiggy, that dress is beautiful!
sold a bag full of books, mostly mass market papers for $8, which paid for 3 new books for mac plus a couple of bucks left over.
I am re-committing to just reading off my tbr shelves and using the library for a while.

the purple, definitely!

originally i was supposed to be, but one of the groomsmen had to drop out and i was the only non-family bridesmaid. she felt terrible telling me, but it was so NOT an issue for me. i actually did go on David's Bridal website to see if they had anything and they had even less of a selection and almost double the price of anything i found. so...yeah.
tiggy, that dress is beautiful!
thanks! i just hope it looks as good ON.
