The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

what Jesse said.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Dosed her with Benadryl and she's sleeping. I've cancelled everything I was scheduled for today and I'm going to go take a nap, too. DH will pick up the new script later today.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had the opposite jury experience as Calli - 11 of us were convinced early on that the accused was guilty (there was an older lady who felt bad that he would go to jail for it because he was underage, but agreed that he definitely had shot the defendant), and the one holdout admitted after a week of deliberations that he'd agreed right from the beginning, but wasn't it great that we all got to miss a week of work?!?!!! If the windows in that room had opened, he would have been chucked out of them on the spot. Asshole.

Since then, I always remember to mention early on that I've read way too many articles on the neurology of memory to believe in eyewitness testimony.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

We figured out part of what's freaking her out is her school is a 70s-style open plan, without doors and walls, and finding her way around has to be a little weird.

Amy, has she had her eyes checked recently? Part of what may be freaking her out is that (if her vision isn't 100%) she's having a hard time identifying people/landmarks by sight. Feeling lost because you can't see what you're supposed to see can be very frightening.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

OMG FIRST GRADER!

THEY DO THAT?!?

They do. Stop feeding Ryan nutritious stuff, otherwise they get smart and grow up and leave and stuff.

Though Emeline recently wanted to know WHY people don't live with their parents forever and that she "would never ever" leave me and Joe alone without her - ever.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow. First grade.

Also: good luck to Kat and kids on first day of pre-school.

Woo hoo for Msbelle and Mac for normal family weekend.

And my niece has her first day of class at NYU today. I'm so proud and excited for her.

Because books.

First grader! I'm still trying to process the fact that Jake will be nineteen on the tenth. ::boggles::

Amy, has she had her eyes checked recently?

Good idea. She did, last year at school, but given my eyesight, it's probably worth checking.

So that's his nefarious plan! We may have caught him just in time, he already understands "Where are the penguins?" in TWO languages. Wanting to borrow the car is surely not far behind.

Aww. Though she does sound a little like the special guest star on Criminal Minds.
