Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Do not taunt happy fun weather.

Heh. Well, it peaks on the 10th so less than a week to go. I know stuff can still go down after that but with any luck R and I will not be riding out a storm while she's in my care.

Fiona was swallowed up by Earl. Gaston seems to be just a wave now... fingers crossed.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

So far, a successful pace run (despite vicious heat, i.e., 75 degree temps) and much playing around with my new GPS watch/program. Now to pick up the house for a friend's visit and then brunch and gay BEACH!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Right. Picking up the house. Should totally get on that. But there's this tennis thing on TV....

And, damn, I really need to get another bookshelf and also get rid of/digitise my video tapes. I don't have a VCR anymore, and I really need that space for my DVDs which are lying all over the place.

What are reasonable prices for VHS->DVD transfers? I have a lot of hand-recorded capoeira that I really don't want to toss.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ita, it'd probably be cheaper for you to buy a VHS/DVD recorder and then unload it on CL when you're done than to pay someone to transfer them. Those places will rip you off.

I just spent an ungodly amount at Sears, but in three weeks I will have a kickass new stove & fridge. Let's hope my current units last out the month.

Huh. They do seem to be under $100. You make a very good point.

eta: Wait, those require a VCR. Hmm.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

eta: Wait, those require a VCR. Hmm.

You could probably get a VCR off Freecycle.

I think if you had an Apple they have an analog import jack that would let you run a VCR directly into the computer to capture the video.

I'm pretty sure I'm a giant emergency preparedness fail. Unless you count having plenty of paper towels.

Have marketed (no empanadas and bread guy was cleaned out when I got there at 9:30!,) pedicured, and Targetted. Now I will tape and apply stripper. Then pool and TJs followed by more stripping and some laundry. Trying to get a lot of the regular stuff out of the way because I need to do shoe shopping tomorrow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

ita, [link] says it has VCR-> DVD dubbing

Thank, -t. Refurbished is exactly my target market.

I think I've given up on the bookshelf thing for today. I've pretty much clogged up all my wall space. Not enough storage room in this apartment, dammit.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Just participated in a 15 comics meme. Now to wake from that reverie.
