Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

You know how you eat 3/4 of a pint so you might as well eat the whole thing? Yeah, me too.

For dessert tonight we had pureed frozen mangoes served over greek yogurt. I think tomorrow I'm going to have kefir with frozen mangoes pureed, like a lazy person's lassi.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha! True, David! BLOG FAIL! I shall return. It`s a household joke at this point that This Time we`re going to watch them all the way through. We have watched the first four episodes in order umpteen times. But then we always skip ahead. I think I may be secretly sabotaging us because I don`t ever want to finish.

Now tagless for your comfort.

You should think up roller derby names for msbelle and ita and rio.

Pretty sure ita's would be Alice Krav-Maga-itz.

This stupid storm was supposed to give us a sidelong glance and be done by this afternoon. Then I could hop on a bus and go to visit my folks in CB. But nooooo, Earl has to meander on the Eastern Seaboard and has decided to make almost a direct hit on Halifax, but not until later today. It's totally messing up all my best laid plans and back-up plans. Now I need a back-up back-up plan.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Annoying, Sue! It's sunny here already, so Earl must really have slowed down somewhere along the line. Luckily, there wasn't anything major here at all. So that's good!

Alice Krav-Maga-itz.

That is awesome.

I have that lemon ice cream! I still like coffee best.

Hooray! I just got an email from my CSA farm, which is down toward the Cape, where the storm was supposed to be worst. The subject line? "ALL IS WELL." Phew!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Sorry to hear Tino...er...Earl has decided to come at you guys. It was pretty much a bust around here, except for inducing panic (stores that sell bottled water and batteries probably made a killing). I swear the regular rainstorm we got last week was much worse. Not that I'm complaining, but I rearranged my weekend plans. I suspect everyone who didn't head north early for the weekend is probably doing so today, so I'll put off going to Maine until tomorrow. Luckily I took Tuesday off so that should avoid labor day traffic coming and going.

I will say, this is the kind of thing that makes people not evacuate.

It's on us now. Not too bad so far, lots of wind and rain. The mall a block away has lost power, but I still have mine.
