Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And an enterprising spider built its web at the edges of the trap, greatly increasing its efficiency.

Smart spider!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

What sort of vinegar did you use?

Cider vinegar I think? They're not getting any of my awesome expensive balsamic.

Smart spider!

Right? I totally left it. I figured any spider smart enough to work that out had earned his keep.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I can vouch for wine left out. The cork for my white zin fell into the bottle so I just left it on the counter open while pouring a glass every now and then. As I got to the bottom...there were fruit flies. (ewwww.)

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Am I to believe that people are catching more flies with vinegar than with honey?

I believe this was already covered in my first series of fruit fly experiments: ita "Coffee On My Monitor" Sep 29, 2006 3:53:13 pm PDT

I just downsized to a grocery sized trashbag and take it out everyday that it has fruitfly friendly shit in it. And enclose my fruit in fridge or bags (can't live on the counter very long anyway, due to heat.)

Dinner a few blocks down, seriously good. I got halfway down my street with my watermelon and mint and bottle of rum, and realized it was too fucking hot to walk, and drove the 4 blocks. Fucking wilting flower, that's me!

Tortillas espaƱol, some awesome roasted bird a la cook's spanish father, spanish sherry, salad, flan (which I have serious texture issues with, but the flavor is good. I took small bites interspersed with watermelon,) my watermelon (rum soaked was a huuuuge hit, we ended up soaking the non-alcoholic half after the non drinker took his share!) Impromptu flamenco lessons, and I am so done now. This was after a mile and a half swim after work because I am insane.

It was fun. A lot for a school night (I will hate tomorrow!) but so worth it.

Top that off with an email I should ignore, been a good night.

Apropos of nothing, I love that I can create a wireless hotspot with my phone now. Not all airports and hotels offer free wifi, and it's nice being able to tell my friends that they can bring wireless devices and actually use them this weekend.

I'll have to demand "Who's your hotspot, baby?" and "Are you connecting with my hotspot?" at least a few times while we're in Atlanta.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Well, duh.

Also, please to film this.

All the cel phone stuff makes me want to Nilly my post where I was all, Oh, I only want a device if it does ALL this stuff. But now it does. Convergence, baby. That was only a few short years ago.

I will, because I should.

There. I fixed it.
