Now tagless for your comfort.

We sadly, do not have any CVS--which is weird because they're freakin' everywhere. Maybe Walgreens.

I don't think we have CVS out in NM. Lord knows they were new to me.

So I cleaned out my bag last night and in addition to fiftyeleven lighters and immodium among the odd things I found (seriously, I've needed immodium once, and that was overseas, so why did it make it into my bag?) was a little airbulb belonging to a jumping spider my nephew gave me and the cats have since dismembered. Huh? Ayway, I tossed it into the trash.

I now know how it got there. Loki rescued it from the trash and is currently going berzerkers over it. I've found his toys in my bag before.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I might try a drink myself. I've been in a knot all day. Surgery tomorrow. I've basically accepted my stomach not calming down until Wednesday when Aunt B is out of recovery.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Today was my first actual vacation day in forever (as opposed to leave days to care for sick parents), and turned out very well. I woke up refreshed and walked 3 miles around the lake/slime pool with pleasantly cool breezes blowing. Then off to Memphis for lunch with my cousin I haven't seen in far too long, and spent the afternoon grocery shopping where the Force was with me but good. (I found fresh mission and calmyrna figs, good heirloom tomatoes, kalamata olive focaccia, lemongrass noodles, Turkish delight, mangosteen-dragonfruit juice, and best of all the almost mythical Roaring Forties blue cheese!) Then I went to the new location of my favorite restaurant and had a great lamb chop pita before heading home.

I didn't have time to go bookcase shopping, but that should make tomorrow interesting.

I hope Earl doesn't mess with my flight to Atlanta on Thursday.

On the iPhone autocorrect topic, my Android attempted to correct "Ronon" with "Robin" while I was texting Dana last night, although I caught it before I hit send.

However, it has convinced me that I'm doing OK financially, which I guess is helpful -- nearly everything that she says to do is either something I already do or something that doesn't apply to me.

I guess I can give it a pass, too. The personal finance books I've been looking at lead me to believe that I don't totally suck at my finances, which is always a surprise because I assume there's some secret grown up trick that I don't know about. I could do better, and I really need to look into investing, but in general I'm already doing everything they suggest or it doesn't apply to me, either.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I hope Aunt B's surgery goes well tomorrow, Trudy.

I also refuse to buy mangoes on the mainland. See also: papaya, pineapple, guava, avocado.

I need to remember to try local avocados next time I am in Hawaii. Oh, let there be a next time and let it be soon. To me, avocados are a local thing but that's from living near Fallbrook, CA.

I live in the land of fried cheese.

There were fried cheese curds at the last Fair I was at that I wanted desperately to try but the stand smelled awful from overused, gross oil in their fryer. But from fifty feet away when I could read the sign but not yet smell the ooky, they seemed like heaven for at least three bites worth.

That would be a very confusing fic.
