Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. I don't care for Glee, Jimmy Fallon, or Bruce Springsteen, but that was a fun as hell opening. Hell, I don't watch anything with any of those people on it, but it was fun.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That was fun! Plus Tim Gunn

I realise the Emmys aren't really for me. I think I watch maybe 2 shows that get nominated--The Good Wife? That's about it. Monk. Damages. Ehh.

Thank you to Liese and her super adorable charming husband for driving almost 3 hours to see us!

We did have an uneventful drive back. The drive to Flagstaff isn't bad because you drive through crap and it gets prettier and prettier the closer you get. Driving back though is like descending the rings of hell.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay! And aww. Yeah, I kinda think he`s awesome. I`m glad you guys liked him! We really liked K. too! The SO was suitably impressed with her hockey credentials.

And seriously, it`s the southwest. That distance is nothing. It`s only like twenty minutes more than our regular commute. That we do, there and back, twice a week. Hee.

Glad your trip back went ok. Did the little man sleep? I was tickled the twins were so sociable. They must be used to lots of people in their lives.

I love Flagstaff anyway. And do tell your niece if she needs anything, we`re right there. You can give her my number.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Went to see Eat Pray Love with friend and friend-who-is-visiting. It was meh (I haven't read the book), but the company was good.

...now roommate and his girlfriend are having really loud sex, and it's irksome.

Dear Hivemind: last night Casper pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve or something in her neck. She has sudden pain, while getting into the bath (but she'd had a dance class with head rolls earlier in the day and was doing backbends in front of the TV). It seems to hurt on one side, right at the base of the skull. If she stays perfectly still she's mostly better, either sitting up or lying down. Ibuprofen doesn't help. Ice and heat both help. No numbness, no fever, no other symptoms.

Suggestions? How long is this likely to last? Should we bother with Orthopedic urgent care down the block, or will they just say "wait it out, now please give us $50"?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My mom would have hit the chiropractor with us first. If an adjustment didn't clear it up... well, an adjustment always cleared it up.

They are going to tell you to wait it out, flea.

If heat is helping continue to use heat, not ice. If it's a pinched nerve or even if it is muscular, then there is nothing you can do except posturally -- hold held still, move entire body and not neck to look at things etc

Ibuprofen won't help as there is probably no swelling. Pain meds that deal with the CNS will only help with sleep.

If it is neural or muscular (as it sounds) then the pain should lessen dramatically in three days and resolve in 7, but if it is neural, it's likely there will be recurrence.
