A friend helped me to realize that I was going through a phase of telling everyone, "You ROCK." I just felt I was being appreciative. He pointed that it make me look like a moron. I stopped it.

(My sharing my hatred of "anywho" with The Boy has led to him using it as much as possible, to see how long it takes me to go insane. Evil.)
Does he not realize he'll be the one at Ground Zero when you snap?
"Awesome". That's it. I say "awesome" too much. I sound like a surfer dude.
I have a problem in that when I saw "Awesome!" I think of Dean Winchester and when I say "Whut?" I think of Gurton Buster. So, me? I'm amused.
To onlookers I probably look really simple.
Perkins, that's awful. I'm so sorry.
Zenkitty, I do too. And, "you rock".
Speaking of overused words/phrases, how am I just now listening to Cee-lo's "Fuck You" for the first time?? I need to listen to this ALL THE TIME.
DUDE!Joe JUST played it for me!!
When does she find out the test results?
ita, she found out that day. She passed. And she already knew the things she was no good at!
Undoubtedly my verbal tics make you all crazy. Like msbelle, I'm sure they are present in my posts. Probably not as irksome as the content of the posts themselves, though.
My favorite verbal tic is to say, "And yet...." whenever a student wants to negotiate with me. The conversations look like this:
Student: "I think my grade should be higher because I did these things you said to do..."
Me: "And yet..."
t insert shrug
It's very satisfying.
That's not a verbal tic, that's a parry.
