And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Dinner: Sandwich, plus golden beets with lemon and garlic, all from the CSA.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats Jessica!

Dinner tonight was a pepper-crusted eye of round, steamed corn on the cob, and half a big beefsteak tomato. The first two turned out magically delicious, but the last tasted kind of funky like it had been soaked in antisceptic or something otherwise medicine-y. (I shouldn't complain too much though, the smaller tomato I had with lunch was awesome).

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Baby greens salad with bacon bits and curried chicken salad. This low-carb thing can be quite deelish!

Mmmm. But then you get to the point where you would kill for a spoonful of rice.

Ugh. There's a dustup on my Blenderized-Diet for sick kids list and I can't let it go. One woman wants her insurance or the government to pay for the food she blends because if the kid were getting a specialized formula, insurance would pay for that.

I feel like a republican because I'm all, "but if your kid were eating the same foods by mouth, you would be responsible for paying for it. The g-tube is just the delivery system."

Ugh. I need to let it go.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My thoughts are with you too, Kathy.

Kat, why do you think you're messing with Noah? He is diurnal and he has bilateral symetry. Oddly enough we were discussing being diurnal today too.

Not really messing with him. But sometimes I think he's this giant scientific and educational experiment.

Ah yes it can feel that way sometimes. I do love watching them think.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. I love Noah`s developmental progress.

Tonight`s dinner was grilled eggplant, zucchini, and squash, with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, and salt. It was super yum. But I had it with rice, because I`m Japanese like that.

Oh, and chard chips, which were nom, but the kale, being curly, cooks up better. There`s something so satisfying about seeing what`s fresh at the farmer`s market and eating it for dinner that night.

Also! My Nubar order came! And it is lovely. But there are definitely some close shades, so there will certainly be some going in the box. I`ll just have to figure out which ones.

Oh, and ita, I agree about the liquid graphite being inconsistent. That was supposed to be the advantage of the liquid, that it would be a smooth unchanging line. But it`s not. But I still like it for the financial stuff, which is mostly what I use a pencil for. Although the erase test is still going at day five.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Kids are totally an experiment!

Sara, I think it's awesome that you want to hang out with 15-year-olds, and they want to hang out with you!

I forgot to put a camisole under this dress. I thought it was OK, standing up, but now NSM. Eh.
