Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

It's so strange--that's three people I know or whose family members I know who have died in the past few weeks at early ages. Earlier this week, a retiree from work lost her 43-y.o. son to ALS, and a few weeks ago, a 32-y.o. writer we've worked with a lot was found dead in his parents' bathroom while he was visiting for the weekend.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, Kathy. That's so sad.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think there are a few schools that cater to LGBT teens.

The one in NYC was founded specifically for "at-risk" LGBT teens -- a lot of them runaways or kids who'd been kicked out of their homes.

That's right next door to my agent's office on Astor Place. Very cool.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hm. I just read that Marcos Akiaten passed away over the weekend. He was in the The Long Red Road earlier this year (with Tom Hardy). [link]

So I just spent the better part of 3 hours with two 15 year old girls. It was fun! They got here early (used to be unheard of with Taylor, that's apparently changed,) just before I got back from the pool, but T's friend's parents had kindly driven them (they live not far) and so just drove over to the Y, so I probably passed them on the way back. Anyway, they came back and I ordered Thai takeout from the Thai Restaurant and we went to go pick it up. They hadn't had thai before, that they knew up, so I got chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, tom ka gai, pad thai and drunken noodles. Taylor was a little meh on the pad thai (doesn't like peanuts much) but LOVED the drunken noodles, satay and both girls suprised me by totally adoring the tom ka gai. That they both hoovered down the spring rolls didn't surprise me, they are addictive.

Bonus, the customer getting takeout ahead of us was a local weatherman both girls have a crush on. Hee.

T and L are like peas in a pod, they finish each other's sentences. L seems like a really smart, level headed sort (she's doing the robotics summer program) so I'm thrilled T's found a friend like her. And she thought it was cool that I was friends with Taylor. I don't know that when I was a 15 year old girl, I would have thought it fun to go hang out with my friend's adult ex-neighbor, you know? And she (and her parents) clearly thought it a sound idea and she had a good time.

I think I may have a contact high from teenage energy...

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kathy, how awful!

After a month's hiatus on Twitter, Owen just got on there to tell Jilli he likes The Nightmare Before Christmas, ask Darth Vader what led him to the Dark Side and ask Taylor Swift out on a date.

hip deep in pie

Owen is killing me ded. I almost choked laughing when I read his taylor swift tweet.

He's starting young with the ladies, Cash.
