I can't picture my brother talking about his feelings with other guys. He does that with his wife and me, after much debate and logical wanderings. But last time did get him to call our aunt, even though he didn't have any sort of relationship with her. I guess the "well, so she's better off to DIE never having known you and you get out of feeling sad, but are stuck with what-ifs you could avoid? And by the way, she's really cool to talk to" punctured his logical skull.
I might kinda be really looking forward to Taylor's visit. I'm hoping she hasn't had dinner, cause I kinda want to get her thai food and have dinner talking, sitting at my coffeetable. We'll see.
the someone who was pissy earlier, calmed down, had some tv time, did his wee bit of homework, was lucky enough to have super cool mom play pokemon figures with him for over half an hour, then getting ready for bed had a good cry about missing his NY friends. and he let me comfort him which is not really his norm. poor noodle.
Aw, noodle. Good job, kid.
It is stil 90F on my patio. Ugh. Not cooking tonight.
Aww, noodle. Making such big progress!
poor noodle indeed.
We have played with everything in the house there is to play with. The day ended with a lego tower as tall (actually taller than) Noah: [link]
I am looking forward to going back to work.
Aw noodle.
For the second night in a row they are doing roadwork outside my house. Last night they worked ALL NIGHT. It's after midnight now, and if I get woken up at again at 4:30 this morning I am going to HULK SMASH!
If I were totally settling back on stereotypes, I'd be saying straight guys don't talk about emotional stuff, but that's patently false.
I talked about emotional stuff with my college roommate all the time. However, it was more about friendships than romances.
We did talk a lot during his divorce though, since I'd preceded him in that territory and it's a lot of upheaval.
I talked a fair amount with my high school and college male friends about emotional territory, but that's not common ground with my male friendships now.
Oh yikes, Sue. Makes you want to yell, "Pipe DOWN out there!"
I slept like shit last night and ended up leaving and going to the kid's room to sleep since the better air conditioner is there. But between the full moon and the constant vigilance of waiting for the trash truck, I didn't sleep any better there!
I miss my straight guy friends from college. I don't really have any in Seattle.
I find it very difficult to believe 25% of guys travel with a stuffed animal. Seriously??
Also, sort of speaking of shoes earlier....Isabel Toledo did a line for Payless (!!). I love the first pump and kinda love the foldover boot.: [link]
