If I were totally settling back on stereotypes, I'd be saying straight guys don't talk about emotional stuff, but that's patently false.
I talked about emotional stuff with my college roommate all the time. However, it was more about friendships than romances.
We did talk a lot during his divorce though, since I'd preceded him in that territory and it's a lot of upheaval.
I talked a fair amount with my high school and college male friends about emotional territory, but that's not common ground with my male friendships now.
Oh yikes, Sue. Makes you want to yell, "Pipe DOWN out there!"
I slept like shit last night and ended up leaving and going to the kid's room to sleep since the better air conditioner is there. But between the full moon and the constant vigilance of waiting for the trash truck, I didn't sleep any better there!
I miss my straight guy friends from college. I don't really have any in Seattle.
I find it very difficult to believe 25% of guys travel with a stuffed animal. Seriously??
Also, sort of speaking of shoes earlier....Isabel Toledo did a line for Payless (!!). I love the first pump and kinda love the foldover boot.: [link]

Me too. I don't see that. I don't know any guys that travel with stuffed animals.
Did they poll a furry convention???

Seriously. I almost feel like pulling an Arthur Dent and going out and lying in front of their heavy machinery in my bathrobe. Of course there are like 20 of them (they must be getting paid double time) so they could probably pick me up no problem.
I kind of like the Poodle Boot, in addition to the ones you mention, Kat. Not actually on me, I think, but to look at.
There is now a t-shirt of the Wondermark comic that is my life: comic; t-shirt.
Seriously, the look on the woman's face in panel 3? Now that I live with The Boy, at least once a week (generally more often) I have that exact look on my face. For realz.

Oh. The wedding this weekend made me realize how much I missed having straight guy friends. All the male friends I have now are almost all the result of them being the male partner of a female friend and who I only really see in the context of that couple. There's only one or two that I have any kind of friendship with away from their wife. Seeing some old male friends this weekend made me realize how much I missed that kind of male companionship.
