For the longest time, I have assumed that eggplant has some kind of enzyme or other that is alien to my system. Total rejection response from every part of my body if a piece accidentally wanders into my mouth.
This is exactly how I feel about onions.
Eggplant pasta salad is a success. I added pine nuts, tomato, crumbled bacon, and capers.
I was unsure of eggplant, but it came in my CSA so I figured I should give it a fair shake. Would make this recipe again, om nom nom.

I love all sorts of odd vegetables, including eggplant ... and now, thanks to buffista wisdom, beets.
never thought I'd say that.
I must have been a weird child, because my favorite veggies were beets and brussels sprouts. And Cabbage.
There are very few vegetables I don't like. There are some I don't love, or don't like to prepare, but if I had a personal chef I would eat way more.

You of all people should know the answer to that one, JZ. It was in your house for a good long while, after all.
Beets and cabbage for the win, but brussel sprouts, no.
This is exactly how I feel about onions.
Raw onions are so totally a no go for me, it's crazy. I can (and often do) use them in cooking, but raw prompts the full body rejection thing. I can't imagine why, given how much everybody else seems to like them.
I'm told I should not eat nightshades, but the Irish in me can't give up the holy potato.
Tonight, I made another round of frozen banana 'ice cream.' 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 2 frozen bananas, half a scoop of Designer Whey (my all time favorite of its ilk) a splash of soy milk and some frozen by me strawberries. Dayum. That is some amazingly satisfying stuff. Thank you Mr. Food Processor!
