The pen is truly mightier than the sword when that pen is a Smith & Wesson.

Flea, that is an awesome title!! And my BIL used to teach at IUPUI.
I dont capitalize meara, online, but do cap my IRL name. Dunno why.
I hate it when we do something huge-like say move up a release- to make up for another department's poor planning.
I feel like other people's jobs should have consequences too, and us shielding them from them are not helping anyone.
Really this could all be solved if they (or a representative) would attend a meeting, or open the meeting file even.
Most often, when people ask me why I don't, they phrase it "Because you're being difficult?" To which I answer yes. In fact, when they don't ask it that way, I usually just say that's why. I honestly don't think people care. Mostly, JUST SPELL IT THAT WAY, PEOPLE.
I was fifteen, FTR. So she was probably an embryo, because I'm old like that.
I'm pretty sure this person is older than you (she was involved with a project here 20 years ago, apparently), but I don't know how long she's been not capitalizing her first name.
We had a professor at the law school who didn't capitalize any of her names. She had a long, convoluted explanation that she emailed out to the whole faculty and staff. something about the patriarchy and personal identity. I don't remember now.

HORROR. NO.
Still, my rationalisation is better than hers.
That doesn't even bear judging. It just is.
I have to say, my parents, not the most tolerant of stuff like that people, just shrugged and said "Whatever" and spell it all lowercase now.
But, you know what? They should have given me a whole name if they wanted me to play by the rules.

Yeah! That! And the kyriarchy. Whoohoo!

And here I was, thinking you did it that way just because you wanted to.

Because your RL name is capitalized and meara is not. Clearly.
you did it that way just because you wanted to
Quite frankly, I like it better, and it's just too late. However, I do adore the word kyriarchy, and I was really itching to use it. So that's my backup line #3 (#1 is "suffix, fuck off", #2 is .. oh, who cares?).
