Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I think the nuance is that slavery was not just about morality but about money. So the war was not necessarily because the great northern people wanted to rescue the poor enslaved black people, but also because of money.

Wait. I thought the Civil War was about Vikings?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

States rights...to let people own other people. Economics...like the economic advantage you get when you have unpaid labor in the form of slaves. It's not damaging or insulting to my heritage to say so either.

Word.

I just quoted the SC Articles of Secession at him. "Slave" is mentioned a number of times.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, there were lots of issues going into the Civil War, but just about all of those issues were issues because of slavery.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Wait. I thought the Civil War was about Vikings?

Caused when Favre went from the Packers to the Vikings?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think the nuance is that slavery was not just about morality but about money. So the war was not necessarily because the great northern people wanted to rescue the poor enslaved black people, but also because of money.

But even then, the money in question was mostly property in the form of slaves and agricultural products produced with slave labor. There's really no way to study the Civil War with any degree of intellectual honesty and say with a straight face that "it wasn't about slavery."

[dang, I type slow]

I think the "not about slavery" thing came about as a simplification of the "not about morals", is what I am trying to say. That is, from personal experience, upstate NY schools in the 1980's taught about the Civil War as if every Northern Person was a completely non-racially prejudiced abolishionist on a crusade to free slaves. So it was a little shocking to realize there were other reasons that "it was wrong", at least to me personally. Sort of like discovering that White People coming to american wasn't all Indian Corn and Thanksgiving as it was taught to me.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

White People coming to american wasn't all Indian Corn and Thanksgiving

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, absolutely. If you think "it was about slavery" means "it was to free the slaves, because slavery is wrong" then you've got some truth to learn. That doesn't make it NOT about slavery.
