Oh, I thought he meant Mighty Boosh too and was confused about what Amy Poehler had to do with it.
Again with being the same person!
The mighty boosh is kind of like flight of the concords but is waaaay trippier.
Ha, Sophia! I was just coming back here to post that I was earwormed by the old song.
That Beloit list seems to be the fruits of someone dialing up their microfiche to 1992 and seeing what happened then. Gee, I bet those kids NEVER heard of Czechoslovakia.
(Also, my immigrant in-laws are obsessed with immigration, I have no idea why these parents wouldn't be.)

Exactly! She sued Barney for divorce, now he's living with his horse!
Right.
The Mighty Boosh is not the same as The Mighty B!
Though they are both excellent shows, one is live action British comedy that's surreal and trippy and funny and the other is American animation about a girl scout troop and one girl's obsessive quest to get every merit badge.
But they both have cool songs!
The Mighty Boosh gives us The Ape of Death.
Whereas The Mighty B! gives us Running with the Rainbow Unicorn.
Some of them are fine, but a lot of them don't make any sense. This year's list was written by someone who didn't quite get the concept, I think.
As far as I'm concerned, World War II never happened!
It's mainly the phrasing of the Beloit list that gets up my nose. "Such-and-such has always been blah blah blah" etc. It's one thing to say "Students in the incoming class do not have first-hand memories of the Cold War," and another entirely to say "To incoming students, the Soviet Union has never existed."
