Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Beloit College's new mindset list.

They continue to be full of crap.

I mean, seriously, could you follow tennis today and not know John McEnroe played? He's all over everything. Never mind all computers coming with a CD-ROM drive. That's seriously outdated in netbook world.

You would not believe the smell that comes off the box.

I repacked everything into a new box, hoping to cut down on the smell. I also chucked a couple of bottles that wouldn't twist closed fully. Not sure if it helped.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

They continue to be full of crap.

Or, at least to write for maximum effect. Saying "John McEnroe retired before they were born" wouldn't get people riled up. Although it might make them a little depressed. And I don't understand what they are saying about Buffy?

I guess it's their cutesy way of saying Buffy's always been around. But, seriously, say Sunnydale High and The Master.

Because books.

And I don't understand what they are saying about Buffy?

I know! That was the movie, right? Which never had the cult status the show had.

10. A quarter of the class has at least one immigrant parent, and the immigration debate is not a big priority…unless it involves “real” aliens from another planet.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

9th Circuit grants indefinite stay in Prop 8 case:

Opponents of same-sex marriage in California won a significant legal victory Monday. A federal appeals court granted an emergency motion that puts same-sex marriages on hold for months to come. If the stay had not been granted, couples could have applied for marriage licenses starting Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Boo-urns.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Doesn't she also feel that way about Billy, of Billy & Mandy (as well as Grim)?

Exactly. I had the same problem with the dad on Jimmy Neutron, a show that I thankfully no longer have to watch.

They lie and are constantly disrespectful.

I'm trying to think of kid shows that have respectful kids. I guess iCarly because she does respect and like her big brother.

But the lying is pretty much endemic to the genre as narratively the kids need to dissemble to do the things they aren't supposed to do. I think it's related to the Dead Mom syndrome in kid lit. A properly functioning family inhibits too many narrative possibilities.

OTOH, it makes me appreciate The Mighty B! more since it's a show that features girls who aren't interested in boys, are driven by accomplishing new things, have smart likable adult characters (who aren't boring and generic) and is still very funny. Go Amy Poehler!

Oh, is that right? I had literally no idea.

That was the movie, right?

It was also referred to in the pilot, I think.

???

Yeah, the whole Arizona thing probably doesn't matter to them, I guess. Never mind, oh, any of the other immigration-related foofurrah.
