Punishingly Intricate

Callaluna, just wanted to say I'm so sorry you're struggling to be happy right now. It can be really, really rough to move somewhere new, especially as big a move as this was for you, and it is a huge bummer that you can't go home like you'd planned.

This. Also, what town are you in? I have a Belgian friend who owns a flower store there and, in my dream, you are in the same town and you can go visit him there and be cheered by his hilarity and beautiful flowers.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I love that hobbit house and could totally imagine myself living there. Except it'd need more windows because I get SADS.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think the fact that Ian S. is on the list probably means he does, at least.

I was figuring they left out a huge number of shows, so maybe not. Because Ian? Really? Nice iliac crest, but seriously. Is VD really the biggest show on CW?

Right, yes. Quite probably.

I hope that David McCallum gets a decent amount, since he's the "and" at the end of the cast listing

That actually functions in lieu of money--it's additional recognition, not an indication of remuneration. It's something else to bargain for.

Going by last year's list, they're totally cherry-picked. Ellen Pompeo does make more than Patrick Dempsey--I am surprised. And Tom Welling makes much much more than Ian Somerhalder, but isn't on this year's list.

Because books.

I think he might have started higher, because of Lost, but after five seasons I'm sure the SPN guys are making more than 40K an ep.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, I'm so glad.

Also, I would like to live in a hobbit house, as long as it had high-enough ceilings. I could totally live in a cave. Cozy!!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ha.

Ha.

Ha.

Point taken. Still, and I am like unto a limpet clinging to the slimy rock that is my point, the lowest salary listed on there is $40K. So there's two issues, here. Who gets paid what, and who gets listed. Jeezy creezy, they listed the KID on 2 1/2 Men. I found on another, similar list from 2007 that Ellen Pompeo made $200K/ep, which at the time was only $25K off Patrick Dempsey.

Now, I recognize that for whatever reason, the women's salaries may just happen to not be available. I will note that Deschanel, like Boreanaz, is also a co-producer on Bones.

Dummy me didn't immediately remove my old address from my Amazon prefs so two expensive packages have been delivered to the people who bought my house. Thank god the realtor is running interference and is going to pick them up.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I think that at least part of the reason actors get paid so much is that they have to make that money last, not just throughout the year, but throughout the rest of your life if you cannot get more work. I mean, say you are Alex Denisof (and not married to Aly, who has work)- he has only done 4 things(according to imdb) since Angel.
