I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Buffistas, I need some of your famous ~ma to cheer me up. We just determined that its not possible financially for me to go home to visit this year. I have been surviving every day of homesickness by looking forward to a trip home in the fall. And now I have nothing to look forward to. I am a bit of a mess. I have a wonderful baby and a (usually) wonderful husband, but I have nothing else here and I am finding it very difficult to be happy.

Cereal:

So, after four months and many calls to the IRS, someone there finally informed me that I need to fill out one 1-page form before they can send me the last thing I need to settle my late father's estate. Once they informed me that they needed the form, I was able to find it in two minutes on the IRS website. It'll take me even less time to fill it out and mail. I could have cleared this up months ago, finalized the estate, and moved on to the next phase of life, if only numerous representatives of the IRS had had their act together.

This is the sort of thing that breeds Tea Party members. Well, this and lead in the water.

So frustrating.

Callaluna, much cheer~ma to you. DH hasn't been home in 18 months because of our finances and he gets really homesick sometimes - and he's lived abroad for 6 years and in an English speaking country. It must be really difficult for you.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Had insomnia due to brain freaking out over OMG WORK! OMG INDIA! OMG REFURNISHING THE HOUSE! Husband bitched about my tossing and turning, so no snuggles to keep the demons at bay (also no hubs tomorrow night cause he's working at the other bar).

Decided to go ahead and just go into work so at least I'll leave early, get some time with hubs and then go to bed early. 6:45 bus was 15 minutes late. I forgot my badge when I left yesterday (because hubs forgot to call and tell me he was on the edge of downtown so I could wrap up and get down 26 flights). There was no one on the floor where temps are issued because we don't really open for business until 8.

I find out we had an issue with the site crashing which was apparently in a Someone Else's Problem Field, so no one could see what it was. PR is asking my boss how to do her job because...apparently it involves posting something on the internet? (seriously, apparently the whole thing is our domain).

And as I was typing this? I got a meeting request for a 4:00-5:00.

Ladies and gents, it is not even 8 am and I am having A. DAY.

I will murder that son-of-a-bitch, Tino.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, Daisy. Maybe tomorrow will be better?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Where's all the Kombucha, sister? My yoga teacher had a half consumed bottle that she carried into Whole Foods and someone offered her $10 for THAT bottle. Insane-o.

Oh, man! My brother's brew pub has kombucha on tap that they ferment themselves; I'll have to ask him if they had to pull it. And I haven't hit up my my local kombucha source in a while. I wonder if they also stopped making it. (They do other fermented foods like a billion types of sauerkraut and kim chee, etc., so they should still be in business.)

Wait, okay, I missed the kombucha thing completely. Where's it gone? What's wrong with it? I went through a phase in school where I'd buy a bottle of that stuff a day. Om nom nom.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Aunt and Uncle are heading up to NYC this morning. BOY is everyone anxious. I keep alternating between trying to find things for them and staying the HELL out of the way.
