Inara: Mal, this isn't the ancient sea. You don't have to go down with your ship. Mal: She ain't going down. She ain't going anywhere.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Excuse me if anyone's linked to this before but this seems to have Buffistas written all over it. Hot men reading Jane Austen: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That was fascinating, ita.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Definitely preserve that, ita.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

You should preserve as an essay.

Agreed also.

Noah and Grace will always have scars. They were never not scarred. They each have a huge scar on their backs where they had heart surgery. And they each have myriad scars on hands and feet from IV lines. Grace has two central line scars, one on her arm, one on her inner thigh. If she ever gets to be trach less or tubeless she'll have scars there too.

For me they are badges of survival.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Disfigured Afghan girl is in the US and getting plastic surgery.

Really nice, ita.

Kat, very much badges of survival.

Went to the market late-ish (9:30.) Haul: spinach, spinach empanadas, donut white peaches, white nectarines, two pints of yellow cherry and red grape tomatoes and 2 ears of corn. Met a woman on the way who had questions about the market; she was driving by and smelled the fruit, so had to stop. She didn't know anything about it and thought it might be a one time thing. So I walked over with her, telling her all about it. She was so excited. Saw her leaving laden with 6 or 7 bags of stuff. Very cool.

Now I need to go rake out my back postage stamp. Uhg. Then I'll probably strip some paint and then go swimming.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It is gorgeous here. I need to cook and clean and grocery shop and shower (probably not in that order), but what I really want to do is take a long walk on the Esplanade. I realize I can do all of these things, as long as I move off the sofa.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hot men reading Jane Austen:

That pretty much sums up how I met my husband. We fell in love over P&P.

For me they are badges of survival.

Badges of survival indeed.

So yesterday I spent much free money in the form of GCs, including a new food processor. Does that keep me from wanting to buy more Nubar? No silly, it does not. However I'm having trouble with the site. Grrr.

Hey Kat, is Reclaim as pretty as it sounds? I think I want it. IF the site keeps giving me grief, I just might try to go by the factory and buy some polish.

Bag of yard debris and 7 bug bites. Uhg.

Now need to strip paint.

So, I've...showered. Soon to leave the apartment!
